Shatei Kyokufuri Yumi-Ojisan - Chapter 173
Data.163 – Old Bowman, Killing Show
The enemy were 12 players from 3 parties.
They must be pretty experienced to have reached these stairs without losing a single member.
In any case, I would use this first!
“Indra Thunder Shock!”
Indra’s Arrow was a charge attack that created sparks as a thunder arrow shot up high into the air and then fell, while Thunder Arrow just shot the arrow normally. Combined, they created a super-charged electric attack!
To be honest, I wasn’t sure if there was much point to combining thunder with thunder!
However, it sounded like it would become stronger and it felt sort of special.
Especially the name.
“Now, I should buy some time until it falls.”
Indra’s Arrow took effect when the arrow came back down and hit the ground.
But since I had so many points put into Range, the arrow flew up so high that it could take a minute or two to come back down.
Even though it was a powerful, wide-area attack, the enemy would still have a chance to get away.
But it was different in a battle royale.
First, as they were fighting in order to drive us out of the tower, they would want to stay in the area as much as possible.
And since every other party was their enemy as well, there would be a lot for them to think about while fighting.
The attacks from the enemy in front, the possible attacks from the enemy in the back, and they could even be betrayed with the parties they teamed up with…
When there is so much to consider, people tend to forget the least important things.
And so the arrow that would fall in a few minutes might be forgotten…!
Besides, players who didn’t know about the effect would just think that it had been a misfire.
“Here it comes…!”
An arrow flashed with lightning as it fell from the heavens.
It was like something out of legend…!
The arrow fell into the forest, where the enemy was gathered.
A great dome of electricity exploded, and the lightning preyed on everything in the area!
The overwhelming attack was an assault on the eyes!
And the sound felt several times louder than actual thunder as it hit my ears!
And the damage, which rose with the arrow, attacked their HP!
“It’s just as incredible as always.”
The ground was burned and there was a great depression in the middle.
It looked like a meteor had fallen and made a crater.
As Indra’s Arrow could be dodged without taking damage if you were calm, it wasn’t always the most useful charge attack. But its damage was one of the highest.
And so no one who was hit was able to survive.
However, there had been some players who were quick to make a decision and had the speed to run away.
It must be fun to increase your ‘Speed’ to that degree.
Having powerful attacks were meaningless if you couldn’t hit the person.
“Well, I’ll just have to do my best and hit them.”
The number of players who had dodged Indra Thunder Shock was, 1, 2, 3… Huh?
Wait, why are there so many players near the tower now?
There are even more than before…!
“They were waiting for my charge attack cool down…!”
With powerful charge attacks, you could tell they were being activated even if you were far away.
And so they had been watching us, and planned to attack after we had used the attacks…!
“Everyone, this will be the critical moment!”
The map was getting smaller.
And it was possible that the whole map would eventually be within my Range.
Many players would want to take me down before that happens.
And so they kept coming!
Perhaps it was a bit rude, but they looked like zombies from a movie.
The trouble was that they weren’t as weak or dumb as zombies. And their methods of attack were at the same level as us.
Swords, spears, axes, magic, bows, guns, shurikens. Having to deal with players with so many kinds of weapons was backbreaking work…!
The saving grace was that these players were all enemies to each other.
And since plenty of them were opportunistic, they would change targets away from us if they saw a strong-looking player, and ambush them from behind. I had seen it happen a few times.
In the end, even if they got us out of the tower, only one party could be inside.
So it made sense to get rid of any rivals during the chaotic battle.
And so we avoided targeting such players as we helped in bringing the numbers down.
Which enemies to target and which to leave…
The battlefield required quick decision making, which gave me a headache.
However, every time I felt that my brain was being overloaded, it felt as if my weakened brain would be revitalized and grow.
Compared to when I first started, I had simply gotten used to playing in VR.
However, that wasn’t the only reason that I had improved.
I had acquired new things and changed.
“Godwind Sky Tear!”
I shot an area in the sky where the clouds swayed.
And then something like a bird fell out from the clouds.
As there were no monsters in this map, it would be a player.
The player had probably meant to rise high into the air and then attack the tower from above. But I shot them before they could descend.
It was more by instinct, then thought.
Like I suddenly had the urge to shoot there.
This feeling…was it what athletes called the ‘zone’?
I felt like my concentration was at its peak.
I could do this. 1000 kills was possible.
However, strangely, I didn’t feel excited about it?
…Ah, that’s right. While it did get us closer to the finals, it didn’t actually matter that much for this battle royale.
In a battle royale, only 1 party could win.
And I knew it by instinct.
As more enemies died, only the strong would remain.
And the strongest top 64 were still on the field.
“Phew… I think I better take a break…”
The enemies were much fewer now.
I doubted that I could return to being as focused as before, but I needed to be aware of my surroundings as much as possible.
“Everyone, don’t let your guard down! From here, it’s going to be… Woah!?”
Suddenly, giant wings flew towards me.
It wasn’t a bird. But it wasn’t a player with wings either.
It was…a boomerang that was in the shape of wings!
And I had seen this boomerang before…!
