Strict Wife Of The ’70s Manages The Household - Chapter 561
Sanwang had a bitter expression on his face, “I was just calling out father’s name; I didn’t say that you were the one who said it.”
“You still want to fight, don’t you?” Lin Lan rushed over.
Erwang held back his laughter, grabbed Lin Lan and said loudly, “Mother, it’s time to celebrate the New Year.”
He dragged the children to kowtow to Lin Lan, “We will kowtow to mother first and kowtow again when dad comes back. That way, we can get double kowtow money.”
When Sanwang heard this, he jumped down, knelt down on the hay in the main room and knocked his head three times on the floor, “I love my mother, I’ll kowtow to my mother. Happy new year, mother!”
Dawang, Erwang, Maisui, “…”
They kowtowed silently, said auspicious words and then went back inside.
Lin Lan had already calmed down by force, so she took out her homemade wallet calmly and gave Sanwang a bitter look, “You ranked as one of the last positions and here you have the nerve to beg for money.”
Sanwang pouted, “Mother, that’s all in the past. Didn’t I get punished by writing?”
“Then what about you stealing a drink of alcohol?”
“Did you forget the 3 whips I received?”
Lin Lan, “…”
She silently slapped herself in her heart, lamenting the fact that she became insane after drinking. Now, she was caught being a hypocrite towards her own son.
Sigh, Little Third Brother is teaching me how to be a human.
She looked at them kindly.
The children, “…”
Lin Lan gave Dawang, Erwang and Maisui one Yuan each.
The three of them were all stunned, originally thinking that they would receive a dime at most.
After all, other people’s families didn’t even give their children any form of New Year’s money. Instead, they’d buy a candy that was worth 1 cent or so.
However, their mother actually gave them 1 Yuan, which was capable of buying 5 catties of fine flour.
Erwang lamented in his heart, mother really shouldn’t live a life of extravagance.
Sanwang, wow, mother being confused just means that I get a plus
He reached out excitedly to receive his share.
Lin Lan looked through the wallet and couldn’t find any 10 cents, so she took out 20 cents. Nevertheless, she hesitated and stuffed it back before finally taking out two cents and placing it in his hand.
Sanwang, “Mother, wake up, what’s the matter? Can you no longer count? I’m still your biological son, so you can’t take revenge on me for personal matters when this is a separate matter.”
Originally, he saw that Lin Lan was holding 20 cents. Even though it was less than his siblings’ shares, it was still money.
Who would have thought that his mother stuffed it back again. He thought that even 10 cents was fine since he would be able to buy 10 candies with it.
So he didn’t expect for her to hand him a mere 2 cents.
Lin Lan said calmly, “I’m sorry, there are no 5 cents, so only 2 cents.”
Sanwang was not a child who could cry and play tricks. Although he didn’t get one Yuan, he didn’t refute the 2 cents either. At any rate, he put the money away and would bring up an opportunity to ask for more in the future.
Hehe.
Lin Lan asked Dawang, “Are there barricades outside the door?”
Dawang replied affirmatively.
The custom of Chinese New Year was to put sticks outside the door at night and to spread hay from the gate to the main room. They added more in the main room so that children could kneel and kowtow to their parents.
