Strict Wife Of The ’70s Manages The Household - Chapter 564
Xiaowang, upon realising that they were not at home, hugged Lin Lan even tighter and shook his head.
Lin Lan didn’t force him to go either. The outcome was basically the same even if he did it tomorrow.
As the gang of boys went out to boast about Third Aunt’s generosity, giving candies and money, the other children in the village went to her house.
Lin Lan also had to be picky. Children who they had a good relationship with were given 2 cents, but most were given a cent on average. Plus, those who didn’t have a good relationship with Lin Lan’s family were only given peanuts or candy instead of money.
The children came and went, making the atmosphere very lively.
It’s just that something was wrong, who was the boyfriend they are talking about?
She didn’t understand for a while.
After a while, Dawang came back with his siblings and reported the results of the battle.
The Secretary Head’s family, Zhang Caihong’s family, Dong Huaihu all gave money, some giving 1 while others giving 2 cents.
Lin Lan said with a smile, “You keep all the money you get, mother has already returned all the favours.”
She told the children about the little human feelings in it, “When the children kowtow during the New Year, the adults have to give them money. Our family has more children, so if they give one portion, the mother will return two. Besides, our family has a better lifestyle than theirs, so it’s okay to give a penny more. Of course, we are not being too generous, so one or two cents is enough.”
She also didn’t want to cause pressure on others. Giving the children 1 or 2 cents would enable the other families to afford paying it forward to her children even by giving them a penny. Giving peanuts would also be a good idea.
Sanwang began counting on his fingers how many houses they went to, how much money they gave, how many people came and how much their mother gave out.
He couldn’t figure it out clearly, so he begged Erwang to figure it out.
Erwang said casually, “Xiaowang didn’t go, so there were only four of us. However, there were a bunch of them that amounted to 7 or so kids. Our mother was generous, giving them one or two candies each. Sweets are expensive too since one of them already cost a penny at least. This means that our family has suffered some losses.”
Looking at the amount of children going in and out, it was no exaggeration to say that there were a lot of them, which also meant that there was a bunch of money being offered here and there.
As soon as Sanwang heard this, he immediately held Xiaowang’s hand, “Let’s go and make another round.”
Xiaowang crawled down to put on his shoes and wanted to follow his Third Brother in order to make up for the losses.
Lin Lan laughed to death, “Alright, that’s enough. It’s getting late and I’ll be cooking dumplings later.”
She didn’t care much about that point. The whole idea behind Chinese New Year’s was to make sure that her kids were happy. Plus, the total amount of money spent wasn’t that much as well.
Since Sanwang only got a small amount of money for New Year’s Eve, which was why he was thinking about where he could earn some more money. Fortunately, he had already been boyfriends to many children, some of whom had paid him their share and some who hadn’t.
Now that all of the children from the village had come by, the house finally returned to its normal peace and quiet state.
