Strict Wife Of The ’70s Manages The Household - Chapter 624
The dough was soft, so she grabbed a dough ball and rolled it into a large, thin and circular shape. One could choose to bake it or steam it in a big pot.
The pancakes were full of toughness but the rolls were soft and elastic. Whether they were rolled vegetables or eggs, they tasted good and had a special sense of satisfaction. Either way, both adults and children liked them.
Rolling out dough and baking were all technical tasks. For those who know how to do so, a rolling pin and a ball of dough could be flattened evenly and thinly. If one didn’t know how to roll the dough, they would be a laughingstock if the end product was sticky, uneven or broken.
The same went for baking pancakes. Without knowing how to cook them, the pancakes would be burned badly.
Lin Lan was very good at rolling out the dough. Erwang also learned how to cook the pancakes very quickly. He basically mastered it after his mother explained the essentials and demonstrated it several times.
The pancakes have small crisp marks, but they were not burnt and were evenly cooked. This was the best outcome that could happen.
Lin Lan kept praising him. She has never been stingy in praising her handsome and polite second son since she could do so in several ways. Erwang was happy every day. He never felt that his mother only doted on his youngest brother and ignored him.
She also rolled out a pot of steamed pancakes and asked Maisui to help light the fire. She boiled a dozen eggs in the pot so that they could be eaten with the pancakes later.
Sanwang and Xiaowang were holding hands and standing by the pot, drooling. Lin Lan used a rolling pin to push them away, “You two have dirt on your body, don’t let it fall into the dough.”
The two brothers were now regarded as golden partners. Xiaowang stared at Sanwang to stop being so naughty whereas Sanwang brought his younger brother around and taught him to the point where the little trace of autism in his behaviour couldn’t even really be detected. It’s just that the two of them were covered in dirt every day, so the amount of soap they needed to wash their clothes constantly was a bit of a waste. Main housekeeper Erwang was always in a sour mood about it.
Seeing that his mother was disgusted, Sanwang sighed and took Xiaowang to the duck pen on the patio to sit on a tree pillar and watch the sunset.
“Xiaowang, I have a secret that I haven’t told you.”
Xiaowang stared at his brother as if he was all ears.
Sanwang, “Actually, mother bought you two pieces of cake, you are not her biological child.”
Xiaowang’s little face suddenly changed and he was about to cry as he pursed his lips.
At this time, there was no popular science about the origin of babies, but children were curious about where they came from and always liked to ask anyways. When adults were asked annoying questions that were difficult to explain, they would use excuses such as “you were picked up”, “I exchanged you with pancakes”, “fished you out from the river” etc. to perfunctory them.
Siblings liked to mess with each other that way, but some liked to mislead other families’ children as well. This would cause the 7 and 8 year old children to start suspecting if they were even their parents’ biological children.
Generally, younger children wouldn’t pay attention and the older ones wouldn’t believe it. Only when a child was 7 to 8 years old would a question like that stump them and make them question their very existence.
