Many people made jokes about Sanwang. They related to Maisui and Erwang being good at studying, but since he wasn’t, he was probably picked up from somewhere. 

This was said so many times to the point where he himself thought he was picked up as well. Xiaowang didn’t like it, but he had no choice but to accept it.

Anyway, in his opinion, only his Elder Sister and Second Brother were biological children as they have never been scolded or beaten. He couldn’t figure out which category his Eldest Brother belonged to though.

The other children thought it was entertaining and liked to play this sort of prank. The whole notion of being picked up by the streets or the river was such a fun idea to them that they liked being teased that way. Upon encountering the emotionally sensitive children, there was a risk of carrying the kid to their parents in order to coax them, but most of the kids give it a good laugh.

But Xiaowang was a child who didn’t joke around a lot. He especially trusted Sanwang, so he actually thought that his brother was serious.

Seeing that he was about to cry, Sanwang quickly held him in his arms and patted his head to comfort him, “Don’t cry, your Little Third Brother is here. I will definitely love you as my own.”

He listened to other adults coaxing children like this before. As far as his imitation was concerned, Xiaowang ended up leaning in his arms and felt comforted.

“Little Third Brother, will mother stop loving me?”

Sanwang, “Of course mother will keep loving you. She doesn’t scold you or hit you at all, she loves you the most.”

Xiaowang thought about it for a while. Although he was not his parents’ biological child, his mother’s love for him was enough.

Sanwang continued to fool him, “Don’t ask mother about this, adults don’t like children to know about stuff like this. If the children know that they were picked up from somewhere else, the adults will take the children back when they get angry. Do you want to be taken away?” 

Xiaowang shook his head vigorously, saying that he would never reveal the fact that he knew about his birth in order to make sure that he would never be taken away.

Sanwang stroked the child’s head with satisfaction and smiled proudly.

When Han Qingsong came back from work, he saw Sanwang holding Xiaowang with a look that conveyed his deep brotherly love. He felt that although this boy was naughty, he was still very good to his younger brother.

It seemed that the intensive training during this period had been effective.

Han Qingsong entered the house and Lin Lan asked him to cut some leeks. She cracked a few eggs and baked some pancakes to reward the children.

Sanwang liked to eat leeks and eggs. He had endured a hard time these past few days and should be rewarded.

Spreading the leek and eggs on a piece of flatbread, she folded it in half. Then, she took a bowl and rolled the edge around. By pulling off the odd edges, a regular semicircle was left.

As a result, the children all were nicely fed after eating. Sanwang had an especially full stomach but not a full mouth. In the end, he could only keep eyeing his father and elder brothers while resisting the urge to say anything useless.
