Strict Wife Of The ’70s Manages The Household - Chapter 847
There was no need to send the dowry in advance since the total load wasn’t a hefty amount either. The siblings could send it over on the day of the wedding.
Old Lady Han said, “Since your sister is getting married, all four of you brothers must send her off.”
Han Qingsong said, “Eldest Brother and Fourth Brother will suffice.”
Eldest Brother Han was honest and proper. He wasn’t the type to gossip unlike his Second Brother who had a sneaky look and loved to spout nonsense. Besides, sending so many people over meant that there were going to be more costs as well. Since they weren’t well off, it was better to not splurge unnecessarily.
Han Jinyu was originally lying on the kang while being in a foul mood. When she heard Han Qingsong say this, she immediately looked up, “Third Brother, you are not going?”
Han Qingsong, “With my status, it wouldn’t be appropriate if I go since it would cause unwanted pressure towards others.”
Han Jinyu was not happy, “Mother, how can my Third Brother not go?”
If her Third Brother went along with her, then she would have at least some form of reputation. But if he no longer intended to show up, then would the Liu Family even consider her semi-important in the slightest? Besides, she also wanted her Third Brother to uphold Liu Haozhe’s reputation since by then, his colleagues, leaders and neighbours would be watching. With her Third Brother, the Public Security Director’s appearance, how much of a great reputation would she have!
But since Han Qingsong did not say that he was busy at work and only implied that his special status would put pressure on others, she could not refute it. Han Jinyu could only act coquettishly and willfully with Old Lady Han, hoping that her mother would be able to force her Third Brother into sending her off.
Old Lady Han looked at her third son and said unhappily, “Old Three, how could you behave like this? You only have one younger sister— do you think that sending her off during her marriage is not something you should do?”
Han Qingsong said, “It’s not the fact that I don’t want to go, but instead, it’s my status that doesn’t permit it. Besides, since I’m on duty, I do not want to cause any potential trouble towards the ceremony.”
Although Han Qingsong didn’t consider the matter between Liu Haozhe and the mother-daughter incident as a crime, it wasn’t a good thing either.
When Luo Haicheng found out about it, Han Qingsong tactfully told Han Jinyu and suggested that the marriage be voided. The girl insisted that she knew about it already and that Liu Haozhe was just kind. Plus, by then, he had already confessed to her. She also spun the situation around by accusing her Third Brother of misusing his authority in order to carry out an investigation on Liu Haozhe’s background, leading to her thinking that Lin Lan was the one who stirred up trouble.
Han Qingsong would naturally stop interfering with the relationship and would not force them to break up, but that didn’t mean he was willing to socialise with Liu Haozhe.
Seeing Han Qingsong’s refusal and his firm attitude, Han Qinghua added, “Forget it, Third Brother is very busy and it’s really inconvenient anyway. I can go along with Eldest Brother.”
Second Brother Han said, “I’ll go too!” The Second Brother, who had been ignored this entire time, finally spoke up.
It was absolutely glorious to have a wedding banquet, let alone having it in the city, so of course he was going to go if he could. After all, there was going to be bragging rights for a few days upon returning.
