Strict Wife Of The ’70s Manages The Household - Chapter 864
Han Qinghua felt that she was ashamed to no end and wrongfully blamed, “When did I not treat you as my Third Brother and her as my sister-in-law? She’s the one who never thought of me as a younger brother. She’s your precious jewel that you always defend but I’m just a patch of grass, eh? I mean nothing to you!”
Han Qingsong ignored him and walked home with big strides.
Han Qinghua cried so hard, unable to understand why a wife was more important than family. Wasn’t this a typical case of forgetting his mother after having a wife(3)?
(T/N: Implies married men who sometimes forsake and forget their family in order to live a life with his wife and children. Some men do so out of fear of their other halves but some do so willingly, for example, in order to start anew)
Han Qinghua originally wanted to alienate his brother and sister-in-law and use Miss Qin to instigate them, but Han Qingsong was not fooled and Lin Lan was not suspicious. Thus, he wanted to scare Lin Lan again. If she complained to Han Qingsong, he would explain clearly with the testimony of their Eldest Brother. With that, Han Qingsong would realise that she was just being unreasonable and was nothing but a troublemaker.
How could Han Qingsong not believe it at all? He only believed that bad woman!
Even if Han Qingsong said that Lin Lan didn’t complain, Han Qinghua didn’t believe it. How could she not complain? She must have complained and instigated his Third Brother to go against him.
This vicious woman! She was Han Qingsong’s darling and he was just a piece of hay. Now, his eyes were truly opened!
Lin Lan sent the children off to wash up and get on the kang. She took a hot bath before rushing back to the main room wrapped in a cotton coat. As she was cleaning up the place, Han Qingsong returned home when the skies turned into a sea of black.
She tilted her head to look at him, wondering, “Why are you unhappy?”
Finally, she was able to figure things out. She used to think that Han Qingsong had only one expression, so it was hard to tell whether he was happy or not. Now, she knew better and could tell at a glance. There were no standards to determine his mood; her judgement was entirely based on her intuitions.
Han Qingsong saw her wearing her undergarments while wrapped up in a cotton jacket, donned with only a pair of single-layered shoes around her feet. Her white and slender ankles were frozen to the point where they were red, so he went ahead and picked her up, “Aren’t you cold?”
“Aiya,” Lin Lan whispered and quickly turned her head to look at the east room. The children, who were originally poking their heads out in hopes of wanting to talk to their father, immediately turned their heads back and pretended to listen to the radio.
Sanwang even laughed deliberately, picked up Xiaowang and whispered, “Aren’t you cold?”
Xiaowang said seriously, “It’s quite warm, not cold.”
Sanwang laughed loudly.
Lin Lan’s cheeks were red as fire. She wanted to get down, but Han Qingsong carried her directly into the room and put her on the kang. She couldn’t help but complain, “The children haven’t slept yet.”
Han Qingsong kicked the door shut with his foot and got on the kang. He held her in his arms and didn’t say anything, merely hugging her.
Lin Lan took the initiative to touch his face. Having a quick-acting metabolism didn’t always come with perks, considering how his stubble was already growing out. He only just shaved in the morning, but it was still sharp and prickly by the evening. She took the initiative to move closer and kissed him gently, “Did you get into some trouble at work?”
She rarely asked him about work in the past and didn’t really feel much concern as to how he felt. After all, he didn’t seem to express himself a lot or she couldn’t tell or didn’t bother too much initially.
Now that she was sensitive to him, she felt that he still had a lot of emotional changes, but since the changes in his expression were too subtle, most people wouldn’t be able to tell.
He shook his head, “It’s okay.”
He never worried about work, but he would also never bring the negative emotions home even if he did.
