The Consequences of Having a Master-Servant Relationship With a Yandere After Reincarnation - Side Story 9
A/N: This chapter is supposed to be a story about hardship, but then I compared this to Oswell’s chapter, this one is definitely a lot lighter than his. Maybe if I were to write Alec’s story, then it would turn into the story of Gray’s hardship.
T/N: Sorry for no chapter in the last two days, had trouble with my PC, now it’s all good though. Also, another chapter that’s hard to both TL and edit, I hope this one is readable.
Side Story 9 – Gray’s Story
- Camilla’s PoV
The first time I met that person, back when both of us were still children.
He embraced me, ignoring the dirty state I was in, then whispered, to me with his voice, filled with compassion… To be with him.
Back then he was eight, and so was I.
The me who was up for sale just a moment ago decided to serve him as his servant.
* * *
I’m an incompetent servant. Physically, I’m weaker than a man since I’m a woman. Intelligence-wise, despite all my efforts, my master is still league better than me in that regard.
Compared to the servant of the Aldington, who is famous for his capability, me, as the servant who is serving a ducal house, is incompetent. Imagine a servant who is serving the heir of the duke is as incompetent as me, I’m such an embarrassment.
Still, I’m a sore loser. Even though I know that I’m incompetent, I still don’t want to let go of this position.
I handed the documents that the master requested and asked him to confirm them.
Master knows that I’m a slow learner, so he had been entrusting me with simple tasks instead of complicated ones.
“Ah, there’s no problem with these documents. Thank you for your help, Camilla.”
Young Master Gray then proceeded to stroke my head, as if I was his little sister.
“No, it isn’t much… Rather, I feel sorry that I can’t help you any more than this, bocchan.”
He smiled in annoyance as he stroked my head even harder than before.
“I told you, right? You’re helpful to me, so have more confidence in yourself. Also, stop calling me young master already.”
“Even if you said so… I’ve been calling you that for almost ten years…”
Looking at my apologetic face, he chuckled.
“Relax, I’m not scolding you, but you know, I just feel embarrassed whenever you’re calling me that… Well, whatever, it’s fine, you can call me whatever you want.”
The young master is really kind.
Not only did he take me in when I had nowhere else to go, but he also taught me a lot of things just because I’m his servant.
He is a flawless man. His look is good, he is smart, and his talent in both magic and academically is amazing that you could call him a genius. Aside from that, he is a son of a duke, he is the best master that a servant could serve.
Also, this is a secret, but the young master is a sheep in a wolf’s clothing. He loves to act tougher when there’re people around him, but he would show his vulnerable sides to me, which never failed to make me happy whenever he did it. These days though, he showed his true colors more often toward other people too, which made me kind of jealous, but I’m just a mere servant, I shouldn’t think of monopolizing him like that.
“Would you like for me to call you President, then?”
He is my proud student council president. I want to address him by that title, at least whenever we are together inside this student council room.
“That sounds too distant.”
“Do you hate it?”
“Uh… let’s just talk about it at later date, okay? Anyway, Camilla, there are some sweets in the cabinet over there, bring them here, please. Also, make enough tea for two people.”
Me and the young master are the only people using this room. In the beginning, Alec Fevensey used to come too, but he hadn’t been for a long while now. He’s probably just ditching his work.
“For two people? Are you going to meet someone? Is Young Master Rona coming?”
“I’m not kind enough to just give him sweets for free. You and I are the ones here, aren’t we?”
Then, one of the two cups of tea would be mine…
“I’m afraid that it’s inappropriate for a servant to share a seat with her master.”
“Well, if you want to play it that way, it’s rude for a servant to refuse her master’s invitation.”
Eventually, I obeyed him and made tea for both of us, and sat down.
In the beginning, I refrained to touch the young master’s muffins, but he forcefully fed them to me.
“I’ll get fat if I eat everything by myself.”
“No, you moved around a lot, in fact, wouldn’t it better if you eat more of it…?”
“I’m having a tea break with you, it’s better if we eat the sweets together.”
“Is that how it works?”
“It is how it works.”
When I started eating, the young master kept telling me to eat more, even though he hadn’t touched his portion at all.
“I-I’m full.”
“You don’t eat much, huh?”
No, the sweets are just too heavy of a snack for me.
After taking a sip of his tea, the young master smiled happily as he crossed his legs. Even his current appearance is picturesque, as expected of the young master.
“It was delicious, thank you for the food.”
“Is that so? I’m glad.”
Young master made a wider smile as he took another sip of his tea.
“As always, the tea you made tastes amazing.”
“No, the tea leaves are just excellent…”
I don’t know what made him so happy, but he kept smiling at me. Sometimes he would act like this toward me, and I could never figure out how should I react to this.
I can’t even pretend not to notice it.
“Oh, by the way, Master came here the other day, did something happen?”
When he came to visit the chairman, he asked me to call his sons, so I quickly left to search for them. I thought that there must have been something that went wrong that made him personally come to the school, but the event didn’t seem to leave much impression on both young masters.
“Ah, it was nothing. We didn’t talk about anything serious.”
“Is that so?”
“Mhm.”
Our conversation then ended just like that.
.
“Camilla, is Camilla here?”
As if trying to help me, Young Master Rona came to the student council room at such perfect timing.
“Me and senpai are going to the town for some shopping, wanna go with us?”
Behind Young Master Rona, Cecille Aldington-sama, whom I’ve recently met is waving her hand.
I turned my gaze toward Young Master Gray, only to see him making a complicated face. Is he worried that this incompetent servant would act rudely toward the young lady?
“Um… is it okay… Young Master Gray?”
“If you want to go, go ahead, Camilla. However, if those two were to force you to do something you dislike, ditch them immediately.”
I don’t think that’s possible, considering my status…
“Then… um… I’m off…”
* * *
Cecille-sama giggled while holding her mouth, a typical gesture of a noblewoman. People would occasionally glance at her while she walked down the street.
Young Master Rona, with his beautiful face, also gathered the same amount of attention as her.
And then, there is me. I feel so out of place.
“Look at your nose, it’s getting wider.”
“H-huh? A-are you talking about me?
“No, I wasn’t talking about you…”
Cecille-sama muttered I shouldn’t do that under her breath, then clenched her lips shut. What was that about, I wonder?
I’ve only recently gotten to know her. I knew that she and Young Master Gray are good friends, but for some reason he never let me meet her.
But, the other day, Young Master Rona introduced her to me, and with a reluctant look on his face, Young Master Gray just said, since you’ve broken the flag, it’s okay, and gave his consent.
I wonder what did he mean by flag?
“Hey, Camilla, what kind of clothes do you like?”
Said Young Master Rona in his usual sweet voice, while pointing to a well-known clothing shop.
The Master adopted Young Master Rona earlier this year. He’s a friendly and kind man, so it didn’t take long for him to get along with everyone. He and Young Master Gray look like real brothers.
“I-I wonder what kind of clothes they have in that store…?”
“Then, let’s go inside and pick some.”
“Eh? P-pick…?”
Before I knew what was going on, I got dragged into the store and was forced to wear a lot of expensive dresses by the two people I accompanied.
It was too hectic for me to ask them anything, so I just let them do their thing.
“As expected, she looks good in blue”
“I agree, blue does look good on Camilla.”
They said as they dressed me in a blue dress with a soft design, the last dress they made me wear before I was able to change back to my uniform.
“Um, this is…?”
“A gift, a token of our friendship, you could call it that.”
Cecille-sama made a lovely smile as she pushed the clothes to my chest with a surprising amount of force.
“This… I-I don’t think I can have something this expensive!”
“No, just take it, it’s a polite thing to receive what’s been given to you, you know? If somehow someone criticized you for having this dress, just feign ignorance, it’s fine.”
“Or you can just say that it’s a gift by a certain nasty woman, and you’re too scared to refuse her!”
“Rona, can you shut your mouth for a second?”
It’s not like I’m doubting their intention or anything, it’s just, I don’t think I can pay them back if I were to receive this.
“Don’t mind it too much, you’re the first decent friend that I have, after all, this much is nothing for me… or do you not see me as a friend?”
“No! No! No! I-I’m honored that you think so! I also think of you as a friend! It’s just, is it okay for me to be given this much? That’s all!”
“Don’t worry, just take it as a bribe so I don’t need to use honorifics when I talk to you.”
I think it’s fine to just ignore a servant’s honorifics… It’s awkward when someone above me in status speaks formally with me.
I glanced at Young Master-Rona, who told me to just accept her gift already.
After I rejected her for a while, Cecille-sama eventually agreed to let me make some sweets for her in exchange for the dress next time.
That was the end of our shopping for the day, we then walked leisurely while chatting.
“Haah, you’re so cute. You’re as cute as Ashley back when he was a child.”
Said Cecille-sama as she covered his eyes with her hand.
“Ashley…? Could he be, um… Young Master Rona’s roommate…?”
“He’s senpai’s servant.”
“Ah really?!”
I never knew that the famous and talented servant and the man who shared a room with Young Master Rona were the same people…
“It’s awful. I can’t believe Gray-senpai hid such a cute girl from me, such an awful man.”
“Now, give him a break ~ She’s the servant that Nii-san doted on since he was a kid. He just wanted to protect her from your evil deeds, senpai, and you’ve been busy with taking care of your death flags, no? Also, you’re a well-known evil woman, senpai, his reason is justified.”
He called her ‘evil’ to her face twice.
“I feel like you’ve stopped holding back lately, hm?”
“I’m just being honest with you, senpai ~”
Young Master stuck out his tongue a little, before suddenly pointing to the dress I’ve been holding.
“You have to wear that in front of Nii-san, okay?”
“Huh?”
“Also tell him that you love him while you’re at it.”
“E-eh?!”
I almost dropped the dress I was holding.
“Of course she should, that’s why I bought it for her.”
“H-huh? W-what?”
“Camilla, you love Nii-san, right? Don’t you want to marry him someday?”
M-marry…
“That’s impossible! I mean, he is the young master and I’m his servant!! Besides, how did you two know… uhh…”
“It’s obvious from looking at you.”
“I think the person himself is also aware of it.”
“H-he also knows?!”
Isn’t in a case like this, the male usually wouldn’t notice anything?
“Um… That’s… uh… P-please don’t tell him anything… I-I mean, there are too much of a difference between our status.”
“We don’t need to, he already knows.”
“I-is it true?”
“Yeah.”
There’s no escape for me then.
“T-then… if he already knows… what will happen to me…?”
There’s no way that I’ll be able to be his servant anymore.
That person, Gray Randolph, doesn’t need me to do anything for him, as he could do everything by himself. The reason why I can stay with him is because he pities me, who is all alone in this world. If people were to know that I one-sidedly love him without minding my position…
“U…uuu…”
“She’s crying! Senpai, you made her cry!”
“Me?! Camilla, what’s wrong? Don’t cry, okay? Everything will be fine.”

- Gray’s PoV
“…What did you guys do to her?”
Camilla, with her eyes swollen, came back while being carried by Rona. She is sleeping peacefully there.
“No, we didn’t do anything. If anything, you’re the cause of this, you know?”
It’s a good thing that there’s a bed in the student council room. I laid Camilla down in the bed while I listened to their excuses.
“That’s right. It’s because Gray-senpai didn’t settle the issue properly…”
“The other day, when father came to see us, didn’t you declare your intent clearly to him? Why haven’t you told her anything yet?”
“It’s none of your business.”
I know that Camilla loves me, I’m sure of that fact, she’s just too embarrassed to say it out loud.
Still, our time is limited, and I can’t do anything to change it.
A few days ago, Father came to visit. He told me his intent to arrange a marriage for me and Rona.
Rona said that she doesn’t mind, but she also said that it would be better to wait for me first since I’m the successor of the house. But in my case, there’s someone else in my mind already, and that person is Camilla.
I love her. I can’t think of being together with anyone else.
I told that to my father, but what I didn’t tell him is the fact that she isn’t my lover yet, we’re merely master and servant. That’s why my father misunderstood and thought that we’re lovers, so he accepted my reasoning and after considering that I have a good relationship with the Aldingtons and the Fevenseys, he easily gave me the pass.
But he also gave us a condition. We have to be married as soon as we graduate. His reasoning for this is that if I let Camilla go at this point, it would smear mud on his face.
Will Camilla even accept a marriage with me?
It takes a lot of courage to confess to someone, you know? I’ve never even done it before, and now, I have to not only confess but also propose a marriage. Seriously, father, why are you asking for us to be married right after we graduate?
“D*mn, you guys are so cute. You guys are like two peas in a pod.”
I stroked her swollen eyelids. I see I’ve wronged her. I wonder what was she thinking when she cried this hard?
“Speaking as a bystander, get married already.”
“Hey.”
You were in the same position as me a while ago, Cecille Aldington, look at yourself in the mirror.
“Unlike you, Camilla is sensitive. If I were to suddenly propose to her, she’ll get scared.”
Seriously, I can’t do this.
“U-umm… Young Master… Gray?”
“Ah… Camilla, you’re awake? Does your head hurt?”
“Yes… umm…”
Alright, first thing first, let’s get the outsiders outta here…
Or no, they left already. As expected, they could read the mood at times like this, huh?
“Young… master… uuu…”
“Wait, don’t cry, don’t cry. What’s wrong?”
What the hell am I doing? Get it together, me.
“Um…! Um! Uuuu… I-I can’t take this anymore, so I’ll just say it! I love you! T-that’s why thank you for everything you’ve done… for me…”
“Why…?”
Why are you saying it as if we’ll never be together again?
“I feel the same way.”
“Huh…?”
“I love you too.”
“T-Thank you… Uwaah…”
“Stop crying and listen to me, please.”
It took me thirty minutes to calm her down.
Then it took me another forty to wait for her to wake up after she fainted from hearing my proposal.
Later on, Camilla showed me her blue dress. Thank you, younger brother of mine, villainess friend of mine. I’ve never felt this thankful to them.
