The First Interstellar Energy Gambler - Chapter 67.2
“Why did you guys come here? The boss said this floor was for us to search!” When they came to the 19th floor there were two interstellar pirates squatting on the ground and fumbling over several corpses. After seeing Xing Mo and others coming from the other side of the passage, they were quick to express their displeasure.
Xing Mo and the others didn’t bother to answer. After all, they couldn’t speak the Federal language, and would undoubtedly be exposed as soon as they opened their mouths.
“Get lost and beat it back to your own floor! There’s nothing for you to pick at here!” An interstellar pirate yelled while putting on a ring-shaped space button he removed from a hand of the corpse he was searching.
It seemed that the reason these interstellar pirates split up to search was not only to better find their target, but also to separate territory for looting.
“Damn! The four of you can’t understand people’s words, that right? If you wanna fight, LaoZi ain’t afraid of you!” The two interstellar pirates saw that they both refused to leave and refused to speak, and thought they were deliberately trying to pick a fight with them. As such the two pirates rolled up their sleeves and rushed over.
Xing Mo sneered inwardly to himself, and when the two approached, he moved forward at an extremely fast speed, punched one of them in the throat, and sent the other one flying with a whip kick.
Before the kicked interstellar pirate got up, Xie Dong had already shot and killed the man.
“Go, and see if there are any survivors on this floor.”
They found a family of three locked in the bathroom of one room. After seeing the costumes of Xing Mo and others, the father immediately rushed forward to fight with them, and the mother rushed over and hugged her child, trying to defend her child against any incoming attack.
Xing Mo grabbed the father’s wrist and prevented him from attacking, then calmly explained in the Imperial language, “We are Imperials. We have killed a few interstellar pirates and robbed them of their clothes. We are here to save you.”
The family of three froze in disbelief for a while before they hugged each other and burst into tears. They really thought they were dead just now. “Are you soldiers? When will the army come to rescue us?”
“No, we’re not…” Xie Dong shook his head, “There isn’t much time to explain. The interstellar pirates outside have been killed by us. You put on their protective clothing, then continue to hide here. No one else should come to search this area.”
None of the three in this family seemed to have any combat training, especially if they were with a child. It wouldn’t be suitable to move with them, so it was better to hide them. As such, Xie Dong gave them an energy gun and had them continue to hide where they were.
Xing Mo didn’t have any opinion on this. Not everyone was able to fight. It would be better to bring along some people with fighting ability.
In order to save time and save more people as soon as possible, the four of them split up. Xing Mo and Lin Luo were in charge of the odd numbered floors on the way back up to the bridge, and Xie Dong and Chen Yi were in charge of the even numbered floors, with the four of them killing all the interstellar pirates they saw along the way. The protective clothing and masks on the interstellar pirates were able to effectively disguise themselves and stun the enemy, so in order to ensure the integrity of the protective clothing on the interstellar pirates, they all directly aimed for the head of the interstellar pirates, and tried to take down each one in one hit.
“Damn it! Time is almost up! Everyone get back here!” Hoarse Federal language came from the shuttle’s broadcast.
By the time Xing Mo and the others returned to the main bridge of the ship their number had increased by a dozen, all of whom had experience in combat. A further ninety-seven people had been saved by them and were left in hiding. The rest of the passengers and crew were either dead or deep in hiding. After all, the civilian shuttle was too big. If a person really wanted to hide, it would be difficult to find them in a short period of time.
“Damn, I don’t know where that kid hid! I can’t him!” The red mask wearing interstellar pirate boss cursed.
“But we didn’t completely lose out! My level was full of rich people. I grabbed seven space buttons!” A fat interstellar pirate laughed loudly.
“Okay. The boss said it won’t be too long on their side, and the people from the Empire should be here soon! Let’s retreat!” The pirate boss asked the group, “have the bombs been set up?”
“Ha ha ha, I want to see where that kid can hide once we blow up this wreck!” The pirate boss laughed arrogantly.
Xing Mo and the others were all taken aback. They didn’t expect these interstellar pirates to be so merciless that they would install bombs in the shuttle to kill everyone left!
There was no time to lose, it was time to act!
The bomb was likely a time bomb, but even so it was likely able to be activated manually. As long as they were able to catch the pirate boss, they wouldn’t have to worry that they would detonate the bomb in advance. Then they could get them to give up the bomb’s location to see if it could be dismantled. If it couldn’t be dismantled, they could still try to use the escape pods, and they might still have time to escape.
If all else failed, they could just grab these interstellar pirates’ GX battleship!
老子 – LǎoZi – lit. ‘I, your father’, slang for “I” in this case used in anger and/or contempt, but in other cases may also be used in arrogance or jocularity / very casual circumstances among friends (usually young guys) *NOTE, please do not confuse with the ancient Chinese founder of Taoism LǎoZǐ / Lao Tzu (老子) which is spelled the same but pronounced differently
