The Legitimate Daughter Doesn’t Care! - Chapter 11
It was just that Grandma Xu was old and had suddenly fallen ill. Since they lived in a remote area, the ambulance took a long time to reach their house. At that time, Xu Xinduo realized that she should move Grandma Xu to a better place which was at least closer to a hospital.
After Grandma Xu recovered from her illness, Xu Xinduo helped her choose a nursing home that was equipped with good facilities and excellent services. This was to make sure that someone would be tending to Grandma Xu’s needs whenever Xu Xingduo was at school.
A major bonus was the fact that the nursing home was quite close to the hospital.
When Grandma Xu moved to the city, Xu Xinduo had no reason to stay in the village either.
Around the same time, the Mu family had also discovered of the big secret— Xu Xinduo’s maternal grandmother had actually secretly switched the babies, making her the rightful Lady of the Mu family.
The Mu family got in touch and promised that they would treat Grandma Xu well. In a bid to show their goodwill, they even paid for all of Grandma Xu’s medical expenses. In the end, Xu Xinduo agreed to their arrangement and moved to the city.
At least this way, she could live closer to Grandma Xu.
Tong Yan was still puzzled, “But why did you accept the identity of being an adopted daughter?”
Xu Xinduo’s lips lifted upwards, forming a sneer, “It’s just an identity, I don’t care. Mostly, I don’t want to change my surname nor do I want to renew the so-called ‘family ties’ with them. After all, there are no sincere feelings between us.”
One would only be bothered over this if they cared.
However, Xu Xinduo didn’t care.
To her, this was just a place to live in—nothing more.
On weekends, Xu Xinduo would go to cram school with Mu Qingyao. Although it was just a cram school, it was built in a very big villa.
The villa was located near their home, about a 10-minute walk away. Even so, the Mu family would arrange for their transportation to and fro.
Mu Qingyao and Mu Qianyi had their own exclusive drivers which made it convenient for them to travel anywhere at any time. As Xu Xinduo had just arrived, she was using the same driver as Mu Qingyao.
This villa looked no different from the other villas in the area, except that there was a sculpted plaque erected at the door with the name of the institution.
It seemed that someone had bought a villa to provide training courses, especially to teach the children of the wealthy families that lived nearby.
When she walked in, she found that there were many rooms inside. After entering, someone came to meet them and led them upstairs.
Xu Xinduo followed the guide to the third floor and was taken to a separate room. Then a teacher came in, holding a test paper in his hand before asking her politely, “Are you Xu Xinduo?”
“En.”
“On the first day, new students are required to take a test as this helps us to understand their foundation better. Stay here and finish the exam for a bit. I have to go back to class, so I’ll collect your papers later. You have about 90 minutes to finish this, is that okay?”
Xu Xinduo took a brief look at the paper and nodded in agreement.
With that, the teacher smiled sweetly and left the room.
She was in a room that was situated at the end of the corridor. The window in the room was open, allowing the breeze to flow in from the outside.
Just as Xu Xinduo was looking for a pen in her bag, a strong gust of wind came in through the window and blew away the examination paper. Before she could pick it up, her body jolted.
Tong Yan suddenly manifested in Xu Xinduo’s body. He looked around and found the new environment rather strange.
He looked down and found that a bag was placed on his lap— it seemed like he was in the act of going through it. Looking around the room, he noticed that there was only a small table placed in front of him as there was nothing else.
What was Xu Xinduo doing before?
Why am I here?
Why wasn’t there anyone else in this room to give me a hint?
