The Legitimate Daughter Doesn’t Care! - Chapter 3
This girl probably crawled out from the ‘Pretend Village’, right?’
(T/N: Terms like these are used mostly in sarcastic ways to fit the situation. For example, to put the two words together as if it was the name of an actual village implies that MC hailed from a village that was full of ‘pretenders’. Same concept applies for any other adj + noun )
‘How can she pretend so well?’
The atmosphere in the car was eerily silent all the way to school.
When they arrived at the school, there were still quite a number of students who hadn’t arrived yet.
When Mu Qingyao saw Xu Xinduo still carrying a suitcase, she suddenly said, “Xu Xinduo, let me show you around the school.”
“There’s no need for that,” Xu Xinduo replied coldly.
There were many different types of uniforms in the Jiahua International School. This included swimsuits, tennis uniforms, basketball uniforms and so on. The uniforms were placed in the students’ small cabinets respectively. As Xu Xinduo only arrived at school for the first time, she could only carry them in a suitcase.
Mu Qingyao immediately held her arm as if she had a great relationship with her. “Come on, our school is big. If you get lost in school, our parents will blame me. You know how much they like to dote on me; I’d be so wrongfully blamed if they reprimanded me because of you!”
Xu Xinduo had no choice but to follow Mu Qingyao in the school with her suitcase.
It seemed that Mu Qingyao was doing this on purpose. She was even heading towards a place with a staircase, entirely ignoring the fact that Xu Xinduo had to carry a large suitcase with her.
“Is the suitcase heavy?” Mu Qingyao asked her.
“It’s alright.”
“I’m sorry, I have never been exposed to the heavy labour back at home. Since you’ve grown up in the village, you don’t have any problem with that, right?”
“…”
Xu Xinduo really didn’t want to stoop to her level.
She knew that she was irking Mu Qingyao. The Young Miss’s behaviour was dreadfully revolting and yet the girl herself wasn’t even aware of it. However, she couldn’t argue with her at the moment.
Xu Xinduo knew that the person who was monitoring her and observing her the most was none other than Mu Qingyao. So for now, she could only try to speak as little as possible in front of her and appear nonchalant— that way, she would be able to decrease the hold Mu Qingyao had on her.
Otherwise, the first person to discover that she and Tong Yan could exchange their bodies would be Mu Qingyao, this low-grade green tea.
(T/N: Just to clarify, if the term green tea here is unfamiliar, it’s commonly used in China to describe a woman/ girl who appears kind and caring on the outside, but is sinister and cunning on the inside. A simple term for it would be a ‘two-faced b***h’)
At this moment, Mu Qingyao seemed to recognise a few friends as she ran over to greet them.
When the girls gathered together to talk, they looked at Xu Xinduo from time to time. Obviously, the topic of discussion was none other than her.
Xu Xinduo stood on one side and looked around. Then, she spotted a boy and immediately called out, “Su Wei.”
“Ah?!” Su Wei who was just passing by was surprised to have his name called out by a beautiful girl.
Xu Xinduo gave him her suitcase. “Help me put this in International Class Four, thank you.”
The tone was strangely familiar and Su Wei took the suitcase subconsciously with a puzzled expression.
Xu Xinduo also took off her school bag, “Help me carry this to class as well.”
“Ah? You are?”
Who is this person?!
“I’m a new transfer student of your class,” After answering, Xu Xinduo went to Mu Qingyao and said, “Are we still strolling?”
Now, Su Wei was carrying Xu Xinduo’s school bag and pushing her suitcase. In the middle of his walk, he suddenly exclaimed, what the heck is going on?
Looking back, he saw that Xu Xinduo had already walked away.
Forget it, I’ll just take it back to the class first. Why does the tone of this beautiful girl sound so familiar?’
Mu Qingyao watched as Xu Xinduo passed her school bag to the student of Class Four and couldn’t help but be surprised, “Do you know him?”
“I saw his class card, so I just asked him to help me take it.”
“You… really…” Mu Qingyao didn’t know what to say.
Aren’t you just taking advantage of the fact that you look pretty?
When they continued to tour the school, Mu Qingyao’s friends followed behind them as they gossiped in a low voice.
School girl 1, “How nice, looks like even a local chicken can turn into a Phoenix with one stroke— out of the village doors and into the gates of the rich.”
School girl 2, “This is almost like a fairy tale, but it’s partly because our Yaoyao is so kind-hearted to be able to accept this matter. If it were up to me, I would have been able to endure this sister that appeared out of nowhere— what a joke!”
School girl 3, “I know, right? …Just look at how fake she is; she’s nothing but a cheap knockoff and now she thinks that she’s some Young Miss of the family?”
