Chapter 132 – Serenity
Matsurika had her mouth hung wide open as she peered at the unfamilliar faces in the living room.
She decided to take a seat on the sofa along with Sere. Meanwhile Haruka and the others sat below on the carpet.
The three girls straightened their backs as they glanced worriedly at Haruka and Yuzurika.
“Heh, everyone here’s pretty cute.”
Reika, Shinku, and Ria averted their gazes to the side, feeling somewhat guilty towards Haruka’s mother.
“First off, introduce yourselves.”
“I’m Ise Ria.”
“I’m Claudia Shinku desu wa. Pleased to make your acquaintance.”
“I’m Kamisato Reika.”
Matsurika smiled and nodded after hearing the brief introduction of the three.
“I am Matsurika, Yuzurika’s mother. This here is Sere, Haruka’s mother.”
“N-nice to meet you.”
Reika bowed reverently.
“So, why did you come today?”
After their short greetings, Haruka promptly tried to get his mothers to leave. He was unusually abrupt and defiant.
Matsurika giggled at the sight.
“Oh my, Haruka’s rebellious phase has finally come, Sere. That Haruka, who usually welcomes me with a smile, is treating me like this.”
“Since my lover came over, I have to be like this..”
Haruka lightly blushed, looking a little bashful.
“It’s Ria, isn’t it? She’s cute. Definitely too good for our Haruka.”
“No…”
Ria stuttered while furrowing her brows. She was unable to come up with a clever response.
“And those two over there your friends?”
“They’re also my lovers.”
“Huh?”
After replying to Matsurika, Haruka realized that Reika was not yet his lover. He didn’t want to correct himself, so he left it as it was.
Reika on the other hand, was grinning with her hands on her cheeks after hearing him say that.
Lastly, Yuzurika was also Haruka’s lover. Though he decided to keep quiet about it for now on the off chance of Matsurika fainting from the shock.
“Everyone’s your lover?”
“That’s right.”
Even the likes of Matsurika was caught off guard.
Yuzurika informed her beforehand that Haruka had a lover. However she didn’t told her that he had more than one.
“From the number of shoes at the entrance, they’re not the only ones, are they?”
The calm Sere asked in a low tone of voice.
“There are three others but they’re still asleep upstairs.”
“What’s going on here?”
Both Sere and Matsurika were baffled. The two stared at Yuzurika, seeking an explanation.
Yuzurika shrugged her shoulders. She did sent a mail saying that Haruka’s lover came over, but she didn’t expect that there were many new ones.
“He’s just like his Mother.”
Matsurika said as she teasingly whispered on Sere’s ear. The latter had a grim expression on her face as she elbowed Matsurika in return.
“Oww?!”
Matsurika turned her attention back to Haruka and the others as she held her throbbing shoulder with her free hand.
“Are you sure everyone is fine with this?”
“….Yeah.” (Haruka)
“Are you sure everyone is fine with this?!”
Matsurika leaned forward and asked Haruka for a second time. She repeated the question loudly after she noticed Haruka’s hesitation.
“W-we are! I’m convinced of it! We’re going to be fine! We’re very happy!”
When Haruka was asked if everyone was satisfied, he was unable to give Matsurika a decisive answer. Instead of him who hesitated, it was Reika who responded to Matsurika in a loud voice.
In contrast, Matsurika looked doubtful. She was reluctant to believe it.
“You can do whatever you want, but don’t make them sad.” (Matsurika)
“I know.” (Haruka)
Ria sighed in relief, sensing that Matsurika’s grilling was over for the time being.
“Well, Haruka is laid-back like us. I hope you girls won’t give up on him.”
Matsurika used the word “laid-back” as an indirect way of saying that Haruka’s status is currently poor.
“With that out of the way, it’s time for the Mothers to go home.”
“Stop your rebellious act for now. We still have something important to talk about!”
Matsurika poked at Sere’s side.
“Do we really have to talk about it right now?”
Sere looked nervous.
“What’s with you.”
Haruka was not fond of Sere. He urged her to talk with an annoyed expression on his face.
Sere’s eyes swam due to the number of stares directed at her.
“Haruka, you’re going to have a little sister.”
“…. Seriously?”
The story was too unexpected for Haruka to believe. His gaze wandered towards Sere’s stomach to confirm.
There was no baby bump as far as he could see.
“It’s only been two months…”
“…. Is that so.”
“She may cause you a lot of trouble by the time she’s born, I’m counting on you…”
“You’re so selfish…”
“A little sister would be nice. I always wanted one.”
Yuzurika said so as she happily hugged Reika by her side.
“Of course, Reika-chan is also my little sister.”
“Y-yes… Onee-san?”
“Well, that’s how it is. We need Haruka and Yuzurika’s help, since we’re from the Countryside.” (Matsurika)
Matsurika and Sere were both from the Countryside. They can only visit the upper layer for a limited number of times. Of course, there were schools and other facilities in the middle layer, but the parents residing there preferred to raise their children in the upper layer if possible.
“Feel free to use a robot to raise the kid.”
Matsurika said as she made eye contact with Yuzurika.
“No way.”
“Sigh..”
Matsurika sighed at Yuzurika who as always rejected robots with the same firm attitude as before.
“Well, That’s all we need for now.”
Matsurika closes the conversation, signalling that it was time for them to leave.
“Let’s talk about it slowly next time.” (Haruka)
Haruka found it inconvenient to talk about such matters. He was unable concentrate because his lovers were present.
“We’ll do that.”
Matsurika and Sere stood up with their belongings in hand.
Haruka and the others went to the enterance with them to see them off.
“So, is our little sister’s name decided already?”
Yuzurika asked Sere, who was busy putting on her shoes.
Sere turned around and answered with a blank expression on her face.
“Haruka(??)[1].”
“Huh?”
“-just kidding, it’s Nodoka.”
Sere turned around and went out through the door without looking back.
“See you later, Haruka, Yuzurika. Until next time.
If you girls haven’t already left Haruka by the time we come back, we’ll have a nice long chat.”
“Okay, Okaa-san.”
“See ya later, Okaa-san.”
Matsurika chuckled after hearing Reika call her Mother-in-law.
“See you all later.” (Matsurika)
The door closed at the sight of Matsurika’s smile and Sere’s back in the distance.
Silence reigned in the Obi household once more.
