When I Was Reincarnated as a Saint - Chapter 11
Mari, exhausting her magic.
This is the square in front of the balcony.
Mari, Sophie, and Harill looked at each other and just breathed a sigh of relief.
“Mari-sama, you are amazing!”
Harill looks over at Mari, impressed, and there he sees the level 99 Goddess Lady proudly beaming, with a smug look.
Sophie jumped on Mari and hugged her as hard as she could!
“Wait, Sophie, it’s embarrassing, Harill-kun is watching us!”
She said and looked at him, but he was looking away.
Oh, good boy, Mari thought…
“No, stop it! Because it’s really embarrassing.”
“It doesn’t matter who’s watching!!!!”
After a brief embrace, Sophie stared into Mari’s eyes directly in front of her. The distance between their faces was so close that she could feel her breath, and Sophie’s blue eyes were glazed over.
(Are we going to have a kissing scene?).
The moment didn’t come, but instead a fading voice whispered in her ear, saying, “I’m sorry.”
“I didn’t think about your feelings… I won’t say Saint-sama anymore. Can you forgive me?”
“No, I’m sorry too. When I saw the Commander, I thought that Knights have their own ways. I couldn’t understand that.”
“That’s all right.”
“Not good! It’s all my fault, Sophie is the only friend I have in this world. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make you feel bad. Sorry, I’m really sorry for causing you so much discomfort.”
This time, Mari hugged her, and Sophie gently patted her head.
…, …, …
The first thing that struck me as strange was Harill. A small, but rhythmic zing, zing, zing sound came closer.
“What is that?”
Sophie turned towards the sound and listened carefully.
Zun, zun… it sounded like footsteps of some kind.
“It’s in the direction of the east gate, let’s go!”
Harill started running while Mari and Sophie followed.
They soon arrived at the east gate. As soon as they arrived at the east gate, they saw from the top of the wall that a monster was coming straight towards the Misery Citadel.
It was a huge monster, dozens of meters tall, and if it could get to the walls, it would easily climb over them and destroy the city. But before that, there was a whole downtown area outside the citadel, and they had to do something before it reached them.
“Harill-kun, this is your last job for today.”
He nodded quietly.
“Sophie, can you buy us some time while Harill-kun stores up his magic?”
Without needing to ask, she smiled ferociously and was ready to go.
“Let’s go then, move out!”
At the same time as Mari’s signal, Sophie jumped down from the castle wall and ran straight towards the monster. She drew her sword and used the momentum to slash its legs as she approached at great speed.
The giant monster staggered for a moment, but then started to attack Sophie, roaring violently and swinging its arms.
” The monster’s movement have stopped. Harill-kun, start chanting. I will send my magic to you.”
“Mari-sama, the monster is too far away! This distance won’t give me enough power.”
“Don’t worry. If I channel my magic into it, it will be enough even from this distance!”
Harill closes his eyes and concentrates.
“Yes, that’s a good feeling, I can feel Harill-kun’s magic getting stronger and stronger.”
Mari stands behind Harill and places her hand on his shoulder, pouring her magic into him. The two of them began to glow from the excess magic power that was overflowing.
Christie, Sarah and Glenn also came to the top of the wall. After seeing Mari and Harill glowing, they looked at Sophie, who was fighting the monster.
Sophie was dodging the rampaging monster’s attacks by the skin of her teeth. It was so harrowing that many of the people watching from the top of the castle walls let out shrieks over and over again.
In the midst of such a battle, she was contacted by Mari.
[Sophie, can you hear me? If you can hear me, go away as fast as you can. We’ll be using burst magic in ten seconds.]
[OK], Sophie cut open a tunnel, distanced herself from the monster, and dashed backwards, twisting her body around.
“…Three, two, one, Harill-kun, now!”
He releases all the magic power he has stored up at once!
A huge magic circle appears above the monster’s head! Immediately after, there was a flash of light!
Ten seconds later, an explosion and a shockwave hit the citadel, shaking the trees.
Sophie was hit by it and fell down, but she got up immediately and spit out the sand in her mouth. When she looked in the direction the monster had come from, she saw that the huge figure was no longer there, leaving behind two legs.
The people who had seen it cheered loudly!
It was the loudest roar that had ever been heard in this land!
“It’s over, isn’t it?”
Just as he said that, Harill felt a weight on his shoulder. Mari leaned on him, her face unconscious, and he slumped to the ground.
Harill continues to scream at the fallen girl, and the people who had been watching begin to gather, including Christie, Sarah, and Glenn.
“Make way, please. I’m a priestess, open up the way!”
Christie finally reached them and was relieved when she examined Mari.
“Don’t worry, young sorcerer, it looks like Saint-sama just used up all her magic.”
