A Girl Who Was Told "You Have No Talent" Turned Out To Be A Talented Monster - Chapter 77.1
Litty, Wards Off the Fool
Most of the people who followed Ilysis in were unfamiliar to Litty.
She wondered if the people surrounding Roma were adventurers, and finally realized that they were Aldis’s cronies. Not only that.
“Uncle, Aunty…?”
There was also the elderly couple of the restaurant where Litty was staying in the city of Topaz. They looked at Litty with an uneasy expression. Litty would like to talk to them, but for now, she shifted her attention to Ilysis.
“Hey, what’s this? Who are these people?”
“Your Majesty the King and Archduke Redner, the Chief Justice and all concerned parties. Forgive my misbehavior in this sacred courtroom.” (Ilysis)
“…It is fine.”
“It’s alright, you may proceed.”
The two heads of state obviously recognized Ilysis, who had been given the honorary title of Paladin and was being elevated to the status of a national icon.
If not for her, the trial would have been immediately suspended, and she would have been imprisoned for her disrespect to the royal family.
Seeing the King allow Ilysis to intervene with the trial, Baider could no longer contain his agitation, and his breathing was labored.
He stared at Ilysis while holding his chest.
Ilysis took a deep breath and continued, “It has come to my notice that the knight Baider has been threatening the adventurer Dande and several others there, forcing them to commit crimes.”
“What?”
Redner closed his eyes and smiled faintly.
The courtroom became noisy. Then the King asked the most obvious question.
“Who are the others? And not just the adventurers present here, I assume?” (King)
“Yes. They are Rank 5 adventurers just like him. They, too, were threatened by the knight Baider, and were instructed to commit the crime with Dande. And this time, the crime they committed was attempted murder…” (Ilysis)
“Don’t be silly! Do you have any evidence to support your claims? I don’t know these people at all!” (Baider)
“You can come in.” (Ilysis)
Ilysis introduced them to other Rank 5 adventurers, the same as Dande. And among them was a certain young man.
“Hey, why is that guy…?” (Baider)
“This young man here has a detailed record of the knight Baider’s misdeeds. The notebook he holds serves as my proof. Moreover, I can prove that he was attacked by Amphisbaena’s troops.”
Ilysis called toward the entrance, and Baider’s men, Nakonda and Gohra, detained by her knights, appeared.
Their weapons had been taken away, and their faces were swollen.
“You guys screwe… ah!” (Baider)
“…I think you slipped up on something, but I’ll continue.” (Ilysis)
Ilysis, with a sarcastic glance at Baider, went over to the two restrained men.
“The young man with the notebook made his way to the Martial Guild. Then following him, the two here fought Aida, a Rank 5 adventurer who works for the guild. As a result, Aida was poisoned by the viper sword used by one of the two, and as soon as I arrived, my men rushed to her aid and protected her. The poison detected in her body is probably the best proof of this assault. She is currently in a hospital in the capital and is expected to survive.” (Ilysis)
“So, these two men wanted to silence the young man and Aida?” (King)
“Yes. At first, they didn’t know that the young man had the evidence, but they followed him as he was acting suspicious. In any case, it is a shameful act for a knight.” (Ilysis)
Baider could no longer maintain his composure. More than the revelation of his misdeeds, there was one person going against him that he feared the most.
That person laughed at Baider.
“This notebook describes the knight Baider’s illicit dealings with some people. We have already detained the other parties and brought them here. They have already confessed. Some of them seem to have been importing Vespa nectar through illegal channels, and in doing so, they bribed knight Baider.” (Ilysis)
“They are lying!” (Baider)
“I have also been secretly searching for the tail of the Amphisbaena Corps for some time now. I am just impressed by how much easier it would have been to make progress if I had this notebook earlier.” (Ilysis)
Having finished saying this, Ilysis read out the contents of the notebook. The atmosphere in the courtroom was beyond surprise as Baider’s wrongdoings were revealed one after another.
The black rumors about Baider, which had existed for some time, were now exposed in the open.
Some were stunned and unable to swallow the situation, some sighed, and others were indignant. All these negative emotions were directed at Baider.
“I’ve heard about their misbehavior for a long time, but this is too much!”
“You are no knight!”
“You should be imprisoned right now!”
“Silence!”
After the judge silenced the stage, Ilysis walked over and signaled Dande to tell the truth as it was his best chance to save himself.
“Your honor… I would… like to tell the truth… I was threatened by Baider to follow his instructions. Otherwise, he would have imprisoned my father for murder… He also promised me that he would let me out of the prison later.” (Dande)
“As you can see, Your Honor, Baider coerced this person to follow his evil plan. Truly despicable.” (Ilysis)
After Dande came forward, everyone else who was arranged by Baider to be the victim, witness or culprit, also decided to tell the truth.
