[Vol. 3] Chapter 6: Confirmation through Eye Contact
Upon hearing this question, Ifia’s body shuddered, and she locked eyes with Austin with an inexplicable sense of guilt.
Confirmation through eye contact – that’s the mark of someone up to mischief.
(???)
It’s really strange!
She’s just an ordinary civilian student. Why would anyone be so concerned about her emotional status? Like, she doesn’t like anyone!
/(//•/W/•//)/
It would only tarnish their pure friendship!
Faced with Austin’s tricky question, Ifia snivels. Not wanting to lie yet not wanting to disclose anything, she puts on a bold expression, lifting the giant beer mug amidst Jessica’s shocked gaze.
Just a moment ago, Ifia was mocking Prince Carloy, and now she becomes the next target. The clown, it turns out, is herself!
Even though it’s all in good fun, with so many people present, they probably can’t guess who it is!
Oh no, what have I done!
Ifia worried that she might regret choosing the punishment. But it was better than answering the question without integrity and being perceived by Amelia as having impure intentions, leading to coldness and distance. Thinking about this, Ifia didn’t hesitate at all. She smoothly lifted the cup with a ‘ton ton ton’ sound.
Amelia, sitting beside her, quietly watched Ifia drink. She observed the drink, unable to be swallowed in time, flowing down Ifia’s mouth, swaying and swaying, eventually couldn’t help but fall into her neckline, dampening a small area. Through the damp fabric, flesh tones appeared and disappeared, undulating with each breath.
Amelia’s purple eyes darkened, then forcibly shifted her gaze away. She raised a finger to her temple, lowering her head, causing silver hair to fall in front of her. She reminded herself to stay calm.
So, among those present, who does Ifia like? She wanted to kill that person!!!
While Amelia was in a low mood, Ifia finally finished her drink. Unlike her previous speculation, the giant mug could indeed hold a substantial amount. After finishing the drink, Ifia patted her round little belly, feeling both regretful and tearful at how much she pushed herself!
To make matters worse, Austin had a look of ‘I see through everything,’ which infuriated Ifia to the point of itching teeth.
“Goodness, such a simple question, it’s quite easy to answer!”
After that, hearing Austin’s sarcastic remarks, Ifia suppressed the urge to roll her eyes.
She rose directly from her seat and sat on another couch. At this point, only Austin and Amelia remained. Ifia silently cheered Amelia on, encouraging her.
Go for it!
You must win against Austin!
At this moment, Amelia had already regained her composure. It was just a disguise, not too difficult. As the bottle slowly came to a stop, pointing directly at Austin, Amelia’s purple eyes narrowed.
If she was in a bad mood, others wouldn’t have it easy either.
“Tell us about the closest you’ve come to death.”
Originally, even with the bottle pointing at her, Austin continued to smile. It seemed that no matter the question, it didn’t have much impact on her, emphasizing emotional stability. However, as soon as Amelia’s question was uttered, the smile on Austin’s face immediately couldn’t be maintained. The once brilliant smile gradually faded until it became expressionless.
Suddenly, she looked up at Amelia with an unwavering gaze, eyes filled with an incredulous inquiry. “Impossible, how did you know? Besides me, no one else…”
“Now it’s my turn to ask you questions.”
Austin lost her usual calm composure, but Amelia remained cool.
Also, because of Amelia’s indifference, Austin quickly regained her composure. She took a deep breath, forced a smile, and then raised her hand to lift the beer mug, pouring it into her mouth with a fierce momentum, as if she were about to go down with someone.
Watching Austin’s ‘ton ton ton,’ Ifia suddenly felt her stomach become watery. She hoped the next game wouldn’t be too bizarre. Even if there were no game rules restricting her, she couldn’t handle a second drink.
“Alright, the first round of truth or dare is over. The second round is about to begin.”
“Dare!”
After Austin gulped down a large mug of beer, as if nothing had happened, she naturally announced the continuation of the game. At the same time, the attendants brought the grilled seafood to the table. The aroma of the barbecue, coated with special sauce, immediately triggered the appetites of everyone.
So delicious!
When plates of grilled seafood filled the table, not only did people like Jessica salivate, but even distant nobles who were observing, as well as the crew and attendants, couldn’t help but feel tempted.
They had eaten grilled seafood before, but never had the aroma been so enticing. The rich fragrance dominated the ship, and there was simply no avoiding it.
Oh no!
“Pause, pause! Let’s taste the barbecue first, it won’t be good when it gets cold~”
Games can be played anytime, but gourmet delights are not to be missed!
Jessica was the first to pick up a delicious grilled fish, and with a howl, she took a bite. The fresh taste was so overwhelming that her tongue couldn’t handle it. The excessive deliciousness left her speechless, as she focused on devouring the food.
Seeing this, others didn’t hold back either. With Ifia’s secret seasoning in play, everyone who tasted it gave high praise, achieving a unanimous positive review for the whole scene.
Ifia herself enjoyed the meal thoroughly. In the Sith Empire, getting hold of special seafood wasn’t easy. Only some common fish, like lobsters and crabs, were available. To cook with such ingredients, one needed to pre-order from the port and the fishing boats.
Success in fishing wasn’t guaranteed, and even if the boat returned empty-handed, the deposit wasn’t refundable, as it was considered compensation for the effort. Although Ifia, after her transmigration, was never short of money except for the initial struggle with hunger, it still depended on the comparison.
While she lived comfortably compared to commoners, she couldn’t compete with the privileges of the nobility. The privileged class was truly enviable! Therefore, Ifia would only spend a large sum on buying high-end ingredients when cooking for Amelia. Otherwise, she would go to Roseanne Street to find affordable ingredients. As for lobsters of this size, that was out of the question.
Can’t afford it. So, this time, I must indulge!
The belly that was just filled with beer miraculously retained some space. It could fully support her feast on the barbecue!
While Ifia was savoring the meal, she couldn’t help but glance over at Amelia. What she saw was Amelia calmly holding a silver pair of scissors and a knife, working on the crab with deliberate and focused attention, as if conducting significant research.
However, as Amelia skillfully peeled the crab meat with the tools in hand, Ifia observed how the meat was cleanly separated from the shell. Seeing Amelia’s methodical approach, Ifia looked at Jessica, who was voraciously devouring the food, and couldn’t help but sigh. She then decided to take action and peeled a lobster herself.
Dividing the meat into small pieces, she dipped it in the sauce and proactively approached Amelia.
“Amelia, open your mouth.”
Upon hearing Ifia’s voice, Amelia paused in her crab-handling movements. Without saying anything, she obediently opened her mouth.
Delicious fish meat entered her mouth, and Amelia lowered her gaze. The hand held in midair looked delicate and soft. It was soft to the touch, just like the person Ifia was – soft, like dough, without too many edges.
Despite her often casual and careless demeanor, and at times a silly and clumsy appearance that might not seem shrewd, her sincere care, genuine friendship, and occasional playfulness made her endearing. Those obsidian-like eyes, just a single glance, gave a sense of being trusted with her whole being.
However, in reality, she was just a playful and irresponsible little goofball. So, why be upset? In the end, it would only trouble herself.
Thinking about these things, Amelia sighed lightly, her purple eyes showing a hint of helplessness. After finishing the shrimp in her mouth, she lifted the plate, spooning a generous portion of crab meat onto it. She then glanced at Ifia, who immediately smiled and opened her mouth.
With a satisfied gulp, she devoured the spoonful of crab meat. Her black eyes narrowed in satisfaction, resembling a little cat that had stolen a fish.
“Hehe, Amelia, crab meat is so delicious.”
After finishing, Ifia couldn’t help but express her thoughts. She really loved seafood. However, sometimes laziness took over, and she couldn’t be bothered to peel the shells.
Lobster is a bit easier, easy to peel, but crabs are a real pain… So, now, mouthful after mouthful, accepting Amelia’s feeding, Ifia felt delightfully content. Plus, the fact that her truths from earlier hadn’t been discovered made Ifia exceptionally happy. She couldn’t fathom the result of being rejected by Amelia. Fortunately, she successfully passed through without being noticed.
“Amelia, you should eat too!”
While Ifia indulged in crab meat, others also enjoyed their food immensely. The pace was rapid, resulting in a hearty meal that required a short break before continuing. Jessica was the first to put down the seafood barbecue.
Perhaps because there was no one left in the Sith Empire that she cared about, Jessica, disregarding her image, devoured her portion like a pig. After the hearty feast, her not-so-large stomach was immediately filled. Although she showed reluctance on her face, feeling her bulging belly with her hand, she knew she had to wait a bit before eating again.
With the frenzy of eating subsiding, Jessica had the opportunity to look around. To her surprise, she immediately spotted Ifia and Miss Barlen feeding each other, a sight that made Jessica’s mouth twitch. It just felt a bit strange.
Although intimacy between girls is not uncommon, for some reason, Jessica feels like there are pink bubbles floating around these two. It must be her eyes playing tricks on her!!! Jessica doesn’t dare to continue watching and quickly shifts her gaze. Next, she sees Austin, sitting in the corner, taking out an iron box from her pocket. Casually pulling out a thin cigarette, she waits until she lights it with a match and then takes a deep drag, expressionless.
The red glow of the cigarette tip flickers, giving off an inexplicable sense of loneliness. After quickly finishing the entire cigarette, Austin’s face changes as if it were a mask. A smile quickly appears on her face, and then she raises her hand, clapping to signal the official start of the second round of the game.
At this point, as everyone sits together, enjoying seafood barbecue, the bottle spins around, quickly choosing the first lucky person: Irene.
And the person corresponding to the bottom of the bottle is Ifia.
Oh, it’s her and Irene’s combination again, truly magical! Is this an unavoidable force in the original plot, always putting her, the contrasting supporting character, in the same group as the female lead, ready to highlight the exceptional qualities of the female lead through comparison at any time?
However, unlike the original plot, Ifia is not a pushover. At least now, the choice is in her hands. Quickly returning to reality after some contemplation, Ifia rolled her eyes and decided to play an interesting game of Truth or Dare~
