[Vol. 4] Chapter 49: Darn it!

“Fia, this document was clearly done by you, why won’t you admit it?”

After Ifia firmly denied any involvement, the atmosphere on the scene became even more tense, and Qulina, at the center of the storm, was on the verge of losing her composure!

Unexpectedly, the seemingly obedient intern had played a trick on her.

Since Qulina had previously admitted that she was the one who completed the document, no matter how Qulina tried to argue, she couldn’t convince anyone that someone else had completed the document.

In addition, Ifia’s denial only made it seem like she was being stubborn.

“Qulina, the situation has come to this, stop trying to argue.”

“Fia is just a newcomer intern without working experience, how could she be eager to complete your work in a day?”

“Even if you make up reasons, at least make them plausible!”

“Miss Barlen has never been one to let things slide, she will definitely not easily let Qulina off this time.”

Qulina’s identification attempt failed, and despite fearing Amelia Barlen’s displeasure, others in the office couldn’t help but whisper and point at her.

Then their gazes turned towards Ifia with pity, thinking that this innocent intern who had just arrived was terribly unlucky to be wrongly accused.

Ifia looked at the crowd, feeling confused. She had only denied it according to the agreement with Qulina. Why did it feel like the atmosphere was a bit strange?

The silently observing system was shocked. It hadn’t expected Qulina’s clever move to backfire.

However, in reality, Qulina’s backfire wasn’t normal. After all, the document she handed to Ifia didn’t have a submission deadline, and considering the host’s mediocre skills, Qulina could have easily discovered the clues if she looked closely. Unless she didn’t have time to check…

The system sneakily glanced at the villainess, describing her as a mischievous little demon. With a casual move, she easily led people into the trap, and it was hard to guard against.

Fortunately, even though the villainess pretended to be innocent on the surface, deceiving her host completely, she maintained an intimate demeanor different from ordinary people, pulling the host into her domain and ensuring that others wouldn’t bully her.

So, even if the host gained a “saintly” effect, it came with a slight decrease in intelligence, but there wasn’t a major issue.

The system didn’t dare to stare at the villainess for too long, fearing that the sharp demon might notice. It shifted its gaze to Qulina, thinking she should brace herself for what’s to come!

Qulina, pointed out by everyone, clenched her fists in silent anger. The excessive frustration caused her light green eyes to widen significantly, with visible red veins, and her entire body trembled uncontrollably.

She shouldn’t have provoked this intern! Unfortunately, regret came too late, and now she had to find a way to extricate herself. Qulina quickly turned her mind, thinking of an important point.

“Miss Barlen, the content of this document doesn’t match my handwriting. We can compare it with other documents,” she said. Even if the intern denied it, handwriting couldn’t be faked.

With this in mind, Qulina turned back to her seat, randomly pulled out a few folders, and hurriedly returned, spreading the folders open on the table.

She tried hard to clear the stain on herself, addressing Amelia Barlen and her colleagues, “Please take a look, my handwriting is completely…”

Qulina’s defense suddenly stalled. She stared in disbelief at the two folders, realizing that the handwriting on them was identical.

Impossible!

The intern had just joined yesterday, how could she mimic her handwriting?

How was this possible?

“Miss Barlen, Fia must be intentionally framing me. I’m innocent! Please, you must…”

“Enough, Qulina Senna. You don’t need to continue defending yourself. Please leave this place.”

Before Qulina could speak further, Amelia Barlen interrupted with a light and casual glance, but a powerful aura swept in like a raging wave, causing Qulina to break into a cold sweat in an instant.

Overwhelmed by fear, her mouth felt glued, rendering her unable to continue speaking. In the end, others couldn’t bear it anymore.

Two individuals stepped forward, each grabbing one of Qulina’s arms and forcibly escorting her out of the office. They were prepared to hand Qulina over to the HR department and convey Miss Barlen’s decision.

Qulina couldn’t stay any longer.

Once Qulina left, Amelia Barlen casually waved her hand, signaling everyone to continue working. After people dispersed, only Ifia stood in place, looking puzzled.

Seeing this, Amelia suppressed a smile and didn’t continue to sit and work. Instead, she walked towards the office door. Passing by Ifia, she called out, “Fia, come out for a moment.”

“Sure.”

Fortunately, Ifia remembered that Amelia was now her boss. After responding promptly, she obediently followed Amelia out of the office. They stopped not too far away.

Ifia looked around and, not seeing anyone else, quickly asked her doubts, “Amelia, what exactly happened? I don’t understand.”

“That document, did you write it?”

Ifia had intended to inquire about the details, but she hadn’t expected Amelia to be so direct. It made her body shudder, and she nervously stole a glance at Amelia, hastily attempting to deny, “It wasn’t me, I didn’t do it, don’t make baseless accusations.”

She suddenly turned into a cat with its fur standing on end.

However, Amelia was too sharp, and Ifia couldn’t deceive her at all.

“Ifia, I know you’re kind and want to help others, but while helping others, you also need to consider whether they’re worth helping. Just like Qulina, she just used you as free labor, wanting to claim credit for your work.”

“But Qulina said if she couldn’t meet the work target, she would be persuaded to resign.”

Though aware that Amelia was speaking up for her, Ifia still felt a bit soft-hearted, thinking Qulina might not be that bad. After all, she was doing this to keep her job.

“If you ask others, you’ll know… there’s no system to check and force resignations in the office.”

“!!!”

Just when Ifia had come up with reasons to defend Qulina, she was shocked to hear Amelia’s explanation, and her eyes widened in disbelief.

Darn it!

“The good are easily taken advantage of, and a good horse is ridden by others. Qulina is truly despicable! Amelia, Qulina deceived me!”

Realizing she had been deceived despite her good intentions, Ifia suddenly became despondent. With a pitiful expression, she looked like a child who had lost her candy. Her sparkling black eyes dulled, and her entire demeanor became listless.

Amelia sighed helplessly and then opened her arms towards Ifia. Standing with the sunlight behind her, she seemed to radiate a halo from above.

This made Ifia quickly stop lamenting. Even though she had been deceived, she still had Amelia!

In the next moment, Amelia, with outstretched arms, successfully received Ifia into a hug. Ifia, holding onto her waist, began to act coquettishly.

“Amelia, that identical handwriting, it must be your doing! Hehe, I really like you the most. Let’s just fire that annoying Qulina, I don’t want to see her again.”

Amelia gently stroked Ifia’s smooth black hair with her hand, silently listening to her complaints and occasionally responding, making Ifia feel like a device low on power that quickly recharged.

Bad people aren’t worth making her sad.

She refused to give up.

In the future, she would surely find people genuinely in need of help!

Ifia would never give up!
