[Vol. 1] Chapter 19: In Big Trouble

Late at night, when all was quiet, Yinyue stealthily slipped out of the dormitory.

Along the way, Yinyue used his supernatural ability to cloak themselves, bypassing various obstacles, until finally reaching his destination.

Yinyue cautiously surveyed the surroundings, ensuring there was no one nearby, before opening the door and entering the office of the vice dean. Tonight, Yinyue was determined to find out what schemes the vice dean was up to.

Searching the room high and low, Yinyue found nothing suspicious. Everything seemed normal. Could it be that he had made a mistake, and the vice dean wasn’t up to anything after all?

Just then, Yinyue noticed a strange statue on the bookshelf.

Yinyue reached out, feeling as though something was drawing them to touch the peculiar statue.

To be safe, Yinyue covered his hand with a layer of energy shield using his ability, capable of withstanding even S-class powers for a short while, buying him time to escape if needed.

However, as Yinyue touched the statue, it ignored their defense and greedily absorbed their energy. Sensing something amiss, Yinyue quickly withdrew their hand.

“What in the world is this? Not only did it ignore my defense, but it also absorbed my energy in return.”

The gem on the statue emitted a silver light. Then, a loud rumbling sound followed, and a secret door appeared in the room.

Yinyue stared at the sudden appearance of the secret door. The vice dean was indeed up to something suspicious, having secretly constructed a hidden chamber.

Opening the secret door, Yinyue found themselves in total darkness. Unable to see anything, Yinyue snapped their fingers, creating luminous orbs around him, immediately dispelling the darkness.

“That’s much better,” Yinyue said, continuing deeper into the chamber.

After what seemed like an eternity of exploration, Yinyue arrived in a vast, empty room.

There stood an enormous altar, and behind it, a highly peculiar statue that bore some resemblance to the one encountered earlier, but this one appeared more human-like.

Approaching the altar, Yinyue noticed traces of blood around it, indicating recent activity.

Yinyue recalled that several new students who had just arrived had been expelled by the academy for violating its rules, but they disappeared halfway after leaving the academy.

The Public Security Bureau of Huihuang City had been investigating for a long time, but they still remained missing. Could it be… Yinyue shook his head, choosing not to dwell on it further.

From the current clues, Yinyue could deduce that the vice dean was likely associated with the Séance Society, and held a significant position within the organization, possibly as an elder of a certain faction.

As for his motives, Yinyue recalled information about the Séance Society. It was a group of fanatics divided into six factions, each worshipping different gods: the God of Fear, the God of War, the God of Earth, the God of Storms, the God of Space, and the God of Dreams.

They believed in their respective deities, attributing the existence of supernatural abilities to divine gifts. They often captured individuals with supernatural abilities, brainwashing them. If resistance persisted, they would sacrifice them, under the guise of “returning” them.

It seemed their goal was to offer us to their so-called gods. It’s unbelievable how we ended up encountering these lunatics from the Séance Society.

“It’s a tough situation now, even if I expose the vice dean, it wouldn’t help. Who would believe that the vice dean, with his innocent appearance, is a member of the Séance Society?”

Moreover, the academy has likely been infiltrated to a considerable extent. His actions might only alert them, and he’ll probably end up dead sooner.

“I don’t have any external support now. It seems I need to discuss with Miss.”

Yinyue took out their phone, captured the scene in front of them, and put away the phone. Just as Yinyue was about to leave, a supernatural beast with a completely red body and giant arms attacked them.

Faced with the sudden assault, Yinyue summoned their light sword to block, but still got pushed back several meters.

Such immense strength. He just upgraded his strength to B-level, but facing this supernatural beast, he still find it difficult to resist. In other words, it’s likely an A-level supernatural beast.

Yinyue had indeed heard that some members of the Séance Society liked to raise supernatural beasts, but didn’t expect it to be true.

Generally, when supernatural beasts went berserk, they would attack indiscriminately. Many people had tried to tame supernatural beasts before, but they all ended up being swallowed whole in the end.

The crimson supernatural beast swung its massive arms at Yinyue once again. Instead of confronting it head-on, Yinyue chose to attack from the side, constantly maneuvering to find its weakness.

Yinyue hit the left hand of the crimson supernatural beast, causing it to emit a pitiful cry. Upon hearing the sound, Yinyue confirmed it as its weak point, preparing to seize the opportunity.

However, three green poisonous spines flew towards Yinyue. Yinyue dodged sideways, and the spines hit the wall directly, quickly corroding it until only a green pool remained.

Glancing back, Yinyue saw a green supernatural beast climbing on the wall. It had three tails, each adorned with poisonous spines, seemingly shot from the tails. Now, its spines had grown back.

“That was close. I almost got hit, luckily I managed to evade it.”

Things were getting tricky now.

Dealing with one supernatural beast usually required two peers of the same level. Facing two A-level supernatural beasts, Yinyue could only manage with difficulty.

With a roar, the crimson supernatural beast charged forward, followed closely by the green one, continuously launching spines, causing significant disturbance to Yinyue.

At this point, Yinyue no longer concealed his strength. His short hair transformed into long strands, gradually turning silver from top to bottom, his body morphing into that of an elegant young woman.

When Yinyue exerted her A-level strength, the side effects of the supernatural ring couldn’t suppress her anymore.

Yinyue transformed her sword into a bow and arrow, engaging in a tug-of-war with the two supernatural beasts, attempting to break free.

Under Yinyue’s attack, they gradually distanced themselves from her. Very good, if they got further away, she might be able to escape. Yinyue thought to herself.

But reality didn’t unfold as Yinyue hoped for the better, instead, it took a turn for the worse.

A blue figure swiftly launched an attack towards Yinyue. Unable to dodge in time, Yinyue switched her bow and arrow for a shield, barely blocking the attack. Looking up, the blue figure had disappeared again.

Damn it, they’re hiding so well. There’s even a supernatural beast with extremely fast speed. It seems like I’m in big trouble.

Facing attacks from three A-level supernatural beasts simultaneously, Yinyue couldn’t afford to play around. It looked like she could only escape as quickly as possible.

Using her abilities, silver light enveloped her legs as Yinyue pushed her speed to the limit, racing towards the entrance.

The blue supernatural beast noticed Yinyue attempting to escape and immediately chased after her, followed closely by the other two.

As she neared the entrance, Yinyue realized the door was already closed. She hadn’t expected to be this unlucky today. It seemed she could only resort to her last resort.

However, once this trump card was used, it would take more than a month to recover, and there were even greater dangers ahead. If she didn’t use it now, she might be trapped here. Yinyue was torn.

Suddenly, the door swung open, and a girl wearing a cat mask appeared before her. Yinyue thought this girl was also an enemy and summoned her light sword, preparing for battle.

The girl slowly approached Yinyue, holding a pitch-black spear in her hand, seemingly preparing to launch an attack.

Meanwhile, the blue supernatural beast, following closely behind Yinyue, also spotted her and swiftly lunged towards her.

Caught between a rock and a hard place, Yinyue had no time to hesitate. But just as she was about to use her last resort, something strange happened.

The girl threw the spear towards the supernatural beast, and the pitch-black spear hit the beast’s chest, causing it to stagger back several steps.
