I'm Not the Young Lady's Dream Girl - [Vol. 1] Chapter 20
[Vol. 1] Chapter 20: Miss Black Cat
Facing the current situation, Yinyue was momentarily puzzled. Why were they fighting? Weren’t they on the same side?
The blue supernatural beast emitted a painful cry, attempting to remove the spear from its chest. However, the pitch-black spear transformed into chains, trapping the supernatural beast. It struggled to break free, but the masked girl didn’t give it a chance.
Soon, the chains ignited with black flames, and the supernatural beast turned into ashes under their consumption.
“Who are you, and why are you here?” Yinyue pointed her sword at the masked girl.
“Just a kind person passing by,” the masked girl replied.
“And what about you? Who are you? You don’t seem like someone from our academy,” she countered.
Yinyue wanted to say that she was indeed from the academy, but she covered her mouth. Indeed, her current appearance didn’t fit that of an academy member.
“I’m here for an investigation. Lately, I’ve noticed something off about the vice dean,” the masked girl explained her reason for being there.
Upon hearing this, Yinyue expressed similar concerns. She hadn’t expected someone else to have the same thoughts.
However, considering the number of people in the academy, it wasn’t surprising that a few noticed abnormalities. Yinyue also shared the clues she had found inside.
“Understood. Let’s go in then,” the masked girl said.
Yinyue was puzzled. Why go back in? Didn’t they already know that the vice dean was associated with the Séance Society?
“Leaving anything related to the Séance Society within the academy will become a time bomb in the future,” sensing Yinyue’s confusion, the masked girl answered.
Yinyue nodded, agreeing to accompany the girl. She was right. For the safety of her young lady, she should indeed eliminate all risks.
“It’s not convenient to reveal my name here. You can call me Miss Black Cat,” the masked girl said to Yinyue.
“Okay, Miss Black Cat. As for me, you can call me Yinyue.”
Yinyue didn’t like using code names or aliases for herself, and it didn’t matter to reveal it now. After all, she appeared as a male student in the academy, and even if they met later, she wouldn’t recognize her.
“That Miss Black Cat, there are still two A-level supernatural beasts inside, they should be on their way here,” Yinyue reminded Miss Black Cat.
“I know, we’ll deal with them together when they arrive,” Miss Black Cat said as she picked up the chains, which turned into black flames. In her hand, the chains formed into a spear.
Yinyue observed the girl in front of her. Miss Black Cat was very strong, able to easily take down an A-level supernatural beast. Yinyue wondered which genius from the academy she was.
After adjusting their status, the two continued forward. It didn’t take long before they encountered the supernatural beasts.
Yinyue was prepared, taking the initiative to attack first, using her bow and arrow to target their weak points.
Miss Black Cat swung her spear, the pitch-black weapon adorned with black flames. Once it hit the target, the flames would burn at the wound until the target turned to ashes.
With the two of them working together, the two supernatural beasts gradually became overwhelmed and eventually fell to the ground.
Guiding Miss Black Cat to the altar, Yinyue saw the statue again, feeling an inexplicable fear rising in her heart. She hadn’t felt this the first time. Why now?
“Don’t keep looking at it. It’ll only stir up your inner fears,” Miss Black Cat said from beside her.
Following Miss Black Cat’s advice, Yinyue stopped staring at the strange statue, and indeed, she felt much better.
“How did you know?”
Yinyue became even more curious about the girl in front of her.
“Because in the past, my sister was almost sacrificed by members of the Séance Society, so I hate them and have conducted a lot of investigations on them,” Miss Black Cat explained.
“Then why didn’t I feel this way the first time?” Yinyue asked again.
“Because the first time, you hadn’t caught its attention yet,” Miss Black Cat said, then took out her spear and started destroying the patterns on the altar.
“Hurry up and help, or we’ll have trouble later.”
Trouble, what kind of trouble? At this moment, Yinyue sensed something. The center of the altar lit up, and there came the sound of a heartbeat from inside, as if something was about to awaken.
Upon seeing this, Yinyue immediately summoned dozens of light swords. The light swords obeyed Yinyue’s command and began to destroy the altar.
From the dilapidated altar came the cries of a baby, and a strange-looking creature crawled out, covered in wounds of all sizes, likely caused by the destruction of the altar.
It emitted sounds that were difficult for ordinary people to understand. Yinyue covered her ears, not wanting to hear the creature’s cries, but she could still hear them.
Even whispers echoed in her mind, seemingly complaining about why Yinyue caused its premature birth and why she destroyed the altar.
Fear began to spread in Yinyue’s heart. “No, please stop, don’t say anymore!” Yinyue shouted.
Amidst the whispers, Yinyue seemed to see Yuluo looking at her with a disgusted expression, saying to her, “I hate you!”
Yinyue gradually gave up resistance, letting fear engulf her. Just as Yinyue was about to be consumed by fear…
“Don’t be afraid, I’m here.”
Suddenly, Yinyue felt someone hugging her from behind. She felt a sensation of warmth washing over her, reminiscent of her young lady’s comforting hug.
The whispers in Yinyue’s mind disappeared, and her heart was no longer filled with fear.
“Thank you, Miss Black Cat,” Yinyue said gratefully to Miss Black Cat as she regained her senses.
“No need to thank me. After all, Yinyue is so beautiful,” Miss Black Cat teased Yinyue.
Yinyue turned her head, not wanting others to see her blushing.
Strange? It shouldn’t be. She only blush in front of Miss.
“Alright, now is not the time to relax. We still have a problem to solve,” Yinyue said, remembering the creature.
She looked towards the altar and found the creature already bound by Miss Black Cat’s chains. However, the chains had begun to crack, and it would soon break free from its constraints.
Yinyue focused her attention, and shimmering orbs appeared around them.
“Can you hold it off for a moment? I need time for this move.”
Miss Black Cat gestured to indicate that there was no problem. At this moment, the chains on the monster completely broke, and it climbed towards them.
Miss Black Cat reached out her hand, and black flames formed a sword in her hand. She swung the sword at the bloodthirsty monster.
Facing the terrifying monster, Miss Black Cat didn’t fall behind. Instead, she seemed to suppress the monster, and its attacks couldn’t get the better of her. She seemed to understand the monster’s attack patterns very well.
Seeing that it couldn’t gain an advantage against Miss Black Cat, the monster shifted its focus to Yinyue.
The monster twisted its body, some necrotic flesh fell off, new flesh grew on its body, and tentacles appeared on its back, making one’s scalp tingle.
“Why is it entering the second phase? This is getting out of hand,” Yinyue complained inwardly.
The monster used its tentacles to restrain Miss Black Cat and then aimed its head at Yinyue, who was charging up. Its face split into two halves, forming a huge mouth, and shot a beam of light from it.
Yinyue watched the beam of light approaching her, thinking she was done for. She hadn’t even had enough milk tea yet, hadn’t even shown her manly side to her young lady. Was she going to die here?
Just as the beam was about to hit Yinyue, a figure stood in front of her, taking the hit for her.
Yinyue looked at Miss Black Cat’s battered right hand.
Why was she protecting her like this? They had only known each other for less than an hour.
Yinyue’s anger surged within her. Now, she had finally finished charging up.
Countless orbs of light gathered around her, and she gave the final command.
All the orbs rushed towards the monster. At this moment, the pitch-black altar shone as brightly as day.
In a frenzy of explosions, both the altar and the monster disappeared, leaving only a huge crater behind.
