I'm Not the Young Lady's Dream Girl - [Vol. 1] Chapter 21
[Vol. 1] Chapter 21: Sweet Dreams
After confirming that the target had been eliminated, Yinyue brought Miss Black Cat to a relatively clean area.
Yinyue gently touched her right hand with her palm, and firefly-like light balls continuously appeared in her palm. Soon, Miss Black Cat’s right hand completely recovered.
“Are you an idiot? What if it were more lethal? You would’ve been done for. Why would you risk your life to save someone you’ve just met?” Yinyue said somewhat angrily.
“Probably because Miss Yinyue is very beautiful,” Miss Black Cat said with a smile.
Yinyue covered her face. Although she knew she was indeed very good-looking, it sounded so much like a lie to trick a child.
“Anyway, thank you for saving me,” Yinyue thanked Miss Black Cat.
“Then how about considering offering yourself to me?”
Yinyue crossed her arms, indicating a refusal.
“Let me guess, is it because you already have someone in your heart?” Miss Black Cat said teasingly.
“No way!” Yinyue replied loudly.
“Really? When you were in fear, I kept hearing you calling out ‘Miss’ in your voice, like an abandoned little kitten.”
Yinyue’s cheeks reddened as she was exposed. “I…I…didn’t…”
Yinyue wanted to refute, but as the words came out, her voice grew quieter and eventually fell silent.
What are you doing, Yinyue? Show some manly spirit.
“Alright, you’ve rested enough now. Since the small trouble has been resolved, it’s time to deal with the big trouble,” Miss Black Cat said.
Hearing this, Yinyue was puzzled. Hadn’t she already dealt with the altar and the monster? Why was there still trouble? Could it be… Suddenly, the strange giant statue’s eyes lit up, emitting a terrifying aura.
Yinyue immediately activated her abilities to protect herself and Miss Black Cat. Is this thing the big trouble? How do I fight this? Am I supposed to go head-to-head with this thing?
“What do we do now?”
Yinyue asked Miss Black Cat, realizing that she had to rely on her now. After all, she seemed to know much more about the Séance Society than Yinyue did.
“Have you ever heard that you need to use magic to defeat magic?”
“Speak in simple language.”
This is not the time for riddles! Yinyue complained inwardly.
“Right now, a portion of its power has descended upon the statue. With our current strength, even if we join forces, we cannot defeat it,” Miss Black Cat said.
If even both of them together couldn’t defeat it, then there was no hope. It seemed like troubles kept arising one after another. If Yinyue had known this earlier, she would have gone to seek a fortune teller or something.
“Don’t worry, I didn’t say there’s no solution. Since this statue is infused with divine power, we can use divine power too.”
After saying this, Miss Black Cat took out a necklace with a skull engraved on it. Yinyue felt a similar but different aura from the statue.
The necklace floated in the air and transformed into a giant scythe. Miss Black Cat grasped the scythe and launched an attack on the giant statue. In just an instant, a huge crack appeared on the statue.
The statue extended its enormous hand, attempting to crush Miss Black Cat into pulp. However, she noticed it immediately, dodging the attack and jumping onto the statue’s hand to counterattack.
The statue opened its mouth, and countless tentacled creatures crawled out from inside. Yinyue felt nauseated at the sight. This god was seriously unhygienic.
Facing the countless tentacled creatures, Miss Black Cat didn’t flinch. She tightened her grip on the scythe and muttered something. Suddenly, a huge skeletal figure appeared behind her, draped in a gray cloak and wielding a massive scythe.
Under Miss Black Cat’s command, it mercilessly harvested the lives of the tentacled creatures, like a meat grinder on the battlefield. With every swing of its scythe, it took away scores of lives.
Yinyue looked at everything in disbelief. It seemed she had been dragged into a battle of the gods. For the first time, Yinyue felt so powerless. She clenched her fists, wondering how she, so weak, could continue to protect her young lady.
The battle had reached a fever pitch. The statue was already in ruins, and Miss Black Cat’s scythe had developed huge cracks. The skeletal figure behind her began to fade.
The next move would determine the outcome. The statue struck first. A gigantic eye appeared on its chest. Yinyue immediately closed her eyes, instinctively knowing not to look directly at it.
The intense aura emitted by the eye made it difficult for even Miss Black Cat, empowered by divine power, to move. Breathing became a challenge.
The statue reached out its massive hand, preparing to slap Miss Black Cat. Although Yinyue couldn’t see, she sensed the dire situation. She wanted to help, but she felt powerless.
【Do you want to help her】
A voice sounded in her mind, warm and reassuring, giving Yinyue a momentary sense of peace.
“I want to help her,” Yinyue replied, not knowing who was speaking in her mind but feeling she had no choice.
Just then, a silver light flew in from the entrance, blocking the statue’s attack and deflecting its hand back. The suppression from its eyes weakened.
When Yinyue opened her eyes, she saw a pure white and beautiful statue blocking the attack. It seemed like the statue from the shelf, but how did it become like this? Unlike the previous eerie statue, this one resembled a young girl, emanating a holy aura.
The pure white statue flew to Yinyue’s side, transforming into a silver sword.
Yinyue picked up the sword. The moment she touched the hilt, she felt an unprecedented warmth. She closed her eyes to feel that power. When she opened her eyes again, they became sharp.
The colossal statue seemed to sense a stronger opponent and redirected its attack towards Yinyue. It transformed its arm into several massive tentacles and launched an attack.
Yinyue gripped the sword hilt. A silver light flashed, and the statue’s hand was severed. Yinyue swung the sword again, sending several sword beams, shattering the colossal statue into pieces.
Just when the two thought the battle was over, an eyeball emerged from the wreckage of the statue, continuously expanding.
“Quick, run! It’s going to explode!”
Miss Black Cat grabbed Yinyue’s hand, and the two hurried towards the entrance.
With a loud bang, the vice dean’s office was blown up into the sky, while the dormitories of the academy echoed with the melodious voices of the students. Day off!!
Miss Black Cat led Yinyue to a secluded corner.
“That was close. We almost got buried in there,” Yinyue gasped.
“Indeed, it was close. I didn’t expect Miss Yinyue to conceal such immense power,” Miss Black Cat said.
The skeleton behind her appeared again, extending its hand as if demanding something. Miss Black Cat took out a peculiar golden coin and tossed it into its palm, and then it left with satisfaction.
“What was that all about?” Yinyue was curious about what Miss Black Cat was doing.
“Nothing, just a deal with a deity,” Miss Black Cat waved her hand.
“But aren’t deities dangerous?” Yinyue now seemed like an inquisitive child.
“Don’t worry, the God of Death is a neutral entity. As long as you offer something beneficial, they can also grant you power.”
Yinyue looked at her new weapon. It seemed to be the power bestowed upon her by some deity. Yinyue decided to give it a name.
“I’ll call you Daytime.”
【Daytime】 seemed pleased to hear that and then turned into a beam of light, entering Yinyue’s body.
Yinyue inwardly said that next time, could 【Daytime】 please give a warning? It was too scary like this, and if other people saw it, they would misunderstand.
For some reason, Yinyue felt weak all over, so tired… Yinyue closed her eyes and fell asleep.
Miss Black Cat caught her just as Yinyue was about to fall.
“It seems like your body’s energy has been drained because you forcefully used the divine weapon to expels divine beings.”
Miss Black Cat removed her mask, revealing her true face.
“Sweet dreams, my dear Sister Yueyue.”
Yuluo lifted Yinyue and planted a gentle kiss on her forehead.
