Otome Game no Heroine de Saikyou Survival [WN] - Chapter 190.1
The End of a Wish 3
“Carla…”
Waiting for me in that place, which was not a dungeon but a place where only the moon and stone floor could be seen, was Carla, wearing a brand new pure white dress and a crescent moon-like smile on her mouth.
Was she the one who interfered with the spirit…?
“The innermost part?”
Wasn’t the innermost part of the dungeon the lowest level? Camille said there was an altar in a large area. The dungeon that Elena and I had dived before also had an altar at the bottom level, and I was called from there to the space where the spirit was.
Carla’s black hair shook slightly as she laughed at the question that unintentionally escaped my mouth.
“Yes, Aria, this is the “deepest” part of the dungeon. No one could have gotten here. Because the real end of the dungeon was above the Demon fortress.”
“…What do you mean?”
Carla said, “It’s just a guess”. Carla then shared her thoughts with me.
First, the lowest level that Camille saw was not the deepest, but only a waiting room, and the altar was not real, but only a transfer device.
“And I had to come to this place to get what I really wanted.”
The Dungeon Spirit granted [Gifts] in the form of “desires”. However, the first Demon King to reach the deepest part of the dungeon wanted a “wish” to be fulfilled.
To fulfill such a vague “wish” instead of a “desire”, this dungeon was transformed into a wish-fulfilling dungeon. Even if they could not reach the bottom of the dungeon, the wishes of those who reached the lowest level were fulfilled as long as they conformed to the “wish” of the first Demon King, which was the “Survival of Demons”.
If one wanted to make their “wish” to be fulfilled like the first Demon King, they would have to reach the bottom level by themselves.
The reason Carla called the lowest level a “waiting room” was because the Demon King alone would go to the innermost level, and his subordinates would be left there.
Carla said this was because one had to be [Qualified] to enter the innermost part.
“How did you get in here?”
“It’s funny that you say ‘get in’ when we’re outside. I think the qualification is probably willpower… you see? But I don’t have a wish or a desire to be granted by the spirits, so I tried to break the altar and was sent here instead.”
“…”
…That was to be expected, I guess? In a way, it was just Carla being Carla.
“Are you sure you don’t have a wish?”
I asked her, and she looked straight at me with her shaded purple eyes.
“No.”
She dismissed the spirit’s reward as lightly as if she were refusing a cup of tea.
“I heard the spirit’s voice when I came here, saying, ‘I’ll grant you any wish you want…’ But I don’t want any more [Gifts], and I don’t want to heal my body and make it weak. But Aria, don’t you think this is interesting?”
“What is?”
As usual, the topic of conversation with Carla changed frequently. However, even in the face of my curt response, Carla happily circles around on the stone floor with her hands outstretched.
“It’s just like you, always so indifferent, you know, trying to manage to get to the end of the dungeon and messing up the dungeon so much that I ended up in this place where no one can reach, even the Demons can’t reach this place, you know? Fufufu.”
