Otome Game no Heroine de Saikyou Survival [WN] - Chapter 41
Sorcerer’s Unfriendly Apprentice
(…I feel so calm inside…)
The light poured in through the wide windows, and the girl let out a sigh as she was led by the attendant down a passageway with a high, ornate ceiling.
A few months had passed since Princess Elena’s recuperation, and now Clara, the daughter of the Countess of Dandol, had arrived at the royal castle in the Royal Capital.
Elena’s recuperation was somewhat mishandled and almost became Dandol’s responsibility. However, the royal family did not want to make the truth that their princess had almost been kidnapped before her betrothal known to the public.
Even so, it was impossible to say that this incident had nothing to do with it, but an invisible rift had developed between Clara and Elena.
They used to be as close as sisters, but with the memories of her previous life returning, Clara learned that this world was based on the Otome Game [Falling in Love with Silver Wings].
And the fact that she was a [villainess] and was wary of Elena, who was also a fellow villainess, had resulted in her distancing herself from the more intelligent Elena.
Still, the most likely cause was the maid with the same peach-blond hair as the Heroine.
It couldn’t have been her. But the resemblance caused Clara to reject her, and whether this had anything to do with it, she was sent from Dandol to the Barony of Ceres, which was even more remote from Dandol, and disappeared at the hands of the monsters who were causing trouble in the area.
(I feel sorry for her.)
Although she felt sorry for the poor girl, Clara was relieved to see her disappear.
She seemed relieved that she had vanished, and perhaps that was why she had been so careless. When she had a chance to meet Elena later and expressed her condolences for the death of her favorite maid, Elena had lost her cool and became furious.
[Aria would never break her promise to me!]
Since then, Elena had been ignoring Clara, causing Clara’s mother to harshly reprimand her and tell her to mend her relationship with Elena.
However, that was not the reason why Clara went to Royal Capital this time.
The Crown Prince’s list of potential fiancées had been narrowed down to three, and Clara, who was officially included in the list, came to the Royal Capital to meet the other potential fiancées.
Why was this meeting so depressing?
“Your Highness, Clara Dandol-sama, the Countess of the Frontier, enter.”
The butler’s voice opened the door, and I stepped into one of the guest rooms in the royal castle. It seemed that Clara was the last one to arrive, and the other two prospective fiancées had already entered and were relaxing by themselves.
A girl with pale silver hair, who was drinking tea at the nearest table, bowed to Clara with a gentle smile.
She was the daughter of the second wife of the Duke of Fudale, whom Clara also knew.
She was two years older than Clara and the Crown Prince, but the duke’s family had no daughter old enough to be the first wife’s son, so they had put her in at the last minute.
The three prospective fiancées would remain in place until the Crown Prince graduated from the Academy of Witchcraft and Wizardry. However, even if they did not become the first fiancées, the other two would be promised the positions of the second and third queens.
In the case of the current king, however, the queens could not cooperate with each other because he had made the Viscountess, who was not even a queen candidate, his first official queen. The second queen who had the most chances of becoming the first official queen ended up as the side queen because of the king’s sudden change of heart. All of this caused queens to never have peaceful cooperation with each other.
This was also the reason why there were few children in the current line of succession.
The same result would take place this time if the Crown Prince were to befriend Heroine. At that time, Clara would have been condemned, so it did not matter much.
(Even if I’ve thought that far, I am unable to do anything.)
The Duchess of Fudale was not a problem. She was not even in the game, and being the daughter of the second lady, she should not be thinking about becoming an official crown princess in the first place.
But the other one… the daughter of the Countess of Lester, who had produced the first court magician for generations, and who was one year below Clara and in the same grade as Heroine, had all six magic attributes and enormous magical power in the game, and always stood in Heroine’s way at the end.
(That…is…the worst, the craziest villainess, Carla Lester…)
Her black hair gently undulated, as if absorbing the sunlight.
The girl with morbidly white skin and sunken dark circles around her eyes – the last boss in the Otome Game alongside the Demon King – was staring back at Clara with purple eyes that shone strangely in the depths of her sunken hollows.

[Sighaaaaaaaaaah!]
Deep in the forest. In the light drizzling weather, the Giant Spider, which had built its nest on a rocky outcrop out of the rain, made a menacing noise in the presence of its enemy.
The giant spider’s body alone was one meter in length. Including the length of its legs, it was a giant spider that could grow to nearly five meters in total length.
Its ecology was not so different from that of ordinary spiders, but it had very well-developed muscles and outer skin to support its huge body, and it sometimes preyed on goblins and even kobolds with its powerful mucous threads and paralyzing venom.
*Goshin!
An unglazed bottle covered by a thin layer of Life Magic [Harden] was thrown, hitting the rocky ground and splashing the water inside into the spider’s web.
[Shaaaaaaaah!!!]
The giant spider, angered by this, sent a sticky thread flying, but its enemy ran around at a delicate distance that allowed it to avoid the thread, and threw several bottles that the enemy had prepared, further dousing the spider’s web with water.
The Giant Spider’s legs slipped from the threads he had used for the web.
This enemy was known through its familiarity. Innately, creatures such as spiders and insects did not grow to this size. It was because this one was a monster which had its body and threads strengthened with magical power.
However, it surely looked strange for its huge body to be able to be supported by a thin string.
Even so, the Giant Spider had still built a nest in mid-air and moved around in it. It noticed an enemy when it examined its old web.
A normal spider’s nest consisted of two parts: the viscous threads that caught the prey, and the non-viscous threads that the spider traversed.
In the case of the giant spider, however, the entire web was made of viscous threads to support its huge body.
Moreover, after being observed for several days, the enemy had known that giant spiders would not hunt outside their nests after it rained. When wet, the adhesive strength of the threads decreased dramatically. And with the reduced adhesive strength of the threads, the Giant Spider could not support its weight.
[Sighaaaaaah!!!]
The Giant Spider, finally unable to bear the weight, fell to the rain-soaked ground.
Seizing this moment, the enemy released several strange projectile knives, which pierced into the Giant Spider’s body.
The ring was about four centimeters long with an eight centimeter diamond-shaped blade on the end, a kind of hidden weapon that could be used as a projectile.
Realizing that it had been attacked, the giant spider swung its legs menacingly. However, unlike a small spider, a spider as heavy as the Giant Spider would surely take some fall damage, and in fact, several of its legs were broken in strange directions.
Seeing this, the enemy tried to close in.
The Giant Spider, noticing the approach, released sticky threads, but the sticky threads, released from a position of being half crushed on the ground, flew off in an unexpected direction.
The ash-covered peach-blonde hair glistened with sweat and rain, shining like silver feathers.
The enemy quickly jumped in and plunged a black knife deep into the Giant Spider’s head.
[Shaaaaaaaah!!!!]
The giant spider, pierced through the head, still pointed its poisonous fangs at the enemy.
The enemy moved away from the Giant Spider quickly, pulling the knife out as if to gouge it out, and then thrusting several more projectile knives into its head and finishing it with a skill, the Giant Spider finally stopped moving.
“–[Thrust]–“
The Giant Spider, which had been living in the area, was killed by the [Combat Art] released by the enemy, which smashed the spider’s neck and dissipated its life.

“Phew…”
The battle was over, and I exhaled in the light rain to cool my burning, sweaty body.
I was able to defeat the Giant Spider as I had calculated. I was still nervous about fighting a demon for the first time, and it took a lot of time to prepare, but if I could defeat a Rank 3 demon with almost no damage, it’s an outstanding achievement.
“[Flowing Water]”
The adhesive threads attached to the cloak were pulled off while washing them with water, and the threads were twisted together with a tree branch and placed in a special bag that I had prepared.
This adhesive thread was normally unusable, but if it was processed by alchemy, it could be used as a high-quality glue for making a book. What “I” needed, however, was the body of a giant spider and its head.
The giant spider’s fangs contained a paralyzing poison that could incapacitate a victim in a matter of minutes. However, with a little work, the poison could be used in weapons without modification.
The head of the giant spider was packed in a separate bag, and the body of the spider was tied with a rough rope, wrapped in a wet cloak, and carried.
The spider’s body weighed nearly 20 kg, but it was not too heavy for me to carry with my Level 2 physical enhancement.
After walking for an hour, I came to a house with mud walls and a small field in the middle of the forest.
I placed the Giant Spider’s body outside the front door, washed the cloak with [Flowing Water] and hung it outside to dry, then opened the door with the two bags and heard a young woman’s voice with a faint chemical smell.
“Aria, you unsociable disciple, don’t enter the house with muddy feet.”
“I’m home. Master Celeshura.”
