That night, Kuufa and the girl were assigned the same room for obvious reasons.
“…I’m sorry.”
Kuufa apologized to the sleeping girl on the bed next to her.
When Kuufa found her, she looked shabby and dirty. After bathing her and buying her clean clothes, the girl started to call Kuufa “master”.
At first, Kuufa didn’t like it and told the girl not to call her “master”, but she finally relented as she couldn’t do anything about it.
Although Kuufa was relieved that the girl had calmed down and was getting a good sleep, she knew that the situation was not yet resolved.
“I…haven’t…saved…this girl…”
Kuufa looked back to a time that she didn’t want to recall. What if no one had reached a hand out to her? Although the demon didn’t help her out of kindness, it did ensure her survival.
Otherwise, she too might have been picked up by some awful people like the Grand Sharks. Or perhaps she would have died.
Projecting herself at the girl and thinking about it, she couldn’t help but not leave her behind.
In Kuufa’s case, it was Litty who helped her get a good life. She even got promoted to Rank 3 and made a contract with Aquaria. Kuufa steeled herself that this time she should be the one to someone else.

Kuufa didn’t have to think a lot to know that as long as the Grand Sharks was around, the girl would never truly be happy.
She knew that it was a reckless decision. Finding and capturing Ground Sharks all by herself was crazy. However, she was filled with a sense of responsibility, but at the same time, it could be said that she was under a kind of obsession.
“When it’s over…I’ll give you…a name.”
After muttering this to the sleeping girl, Kuufa slipped out of the room through the window, creating an aqua road in the air with Aquaria’s power and slipping easily through the garden.
Aquaria remained silent during the whole situation. She did not give Kuufa any advice, no matter how troubled Kuufa was. In her opinion, it was an important step for Kuufa to develop further and she had no intention of interfering with it.

The night was unusually silent in the royal capital as it was under a curfew. There were almost no people on the streets. Those who were found were stopped by the knights and sent home.
Kuufa carefully listened to knights’ movements and moved through the royal capital hiding from their watchful eyes.
“…I don’t think they’re there.”
“Maybe they are hiding in some resident’s house by threatening them.”
“Well, they can also hide in some abandoned house.”
“Hmm, other teams are probably working on that. What we need to watch is up above. Let’s focus on that.”
Hiding in the shadows of the building, she listened to the conversation of the knights.
Kuufa did not understand what the earlier knight meant. She wanted to hear more of the conversation, but they were getting closer, so she had to run away.
