Otome Game no Heroine de Saikyou Survival [WN] - Chapter 177.3
I saw that all of them were carrying a bag with a magic element in it. If it was a bag that had been expanded inside with dark sorcery, the contents might be food, potions, and other medicines, or, given the number of people in the group, maybe some spare weapons.
So, what to do? There was no reason to have supplies delivered. As long as they did not know where the main group was, the risk of an attack would increase with the passage of time.
Above all, I felt a sensation that made my hair stand on end.
A trap? But…
“Let’s do it.”
In a few seconds, I gather my thoughts and instantly switch my mind to combat.
I knew the risks. Even if there was a possibility that it was a trap, if I wanted to overlook it, I wouldn’t have even joined the fight in the first place.
This was a battlefield where survival was at stake. Even if it were just a supply unit, there would be no need to send the soldiers home alive… but here I dare to have them “disabled” for the sake of “combat”.
The reason was simple. If the soldiers who have a reason to die have injuries that could not be healed by the potion, other personnel would move to search and rescue, which would reduce the number of moves the enemy could make.
I didn’t have much time, but I would lay a trap. It could only be a simple one, but it would have to suffice for now. To set more traps just in case, I went to the monster whose position I knew.
It was a large boar monster, a Great Boar, a Rank 3 monster that was hunted as a food source in the towns of the ordinary people. The Great Boar was as big as a wagon, but it was timid and could be hunted even by non-adventurers as long as there were enough of them, which was why it was rated as a Rank 3.
However, the Great Boar would be Rank 4 under certain conditions: the place should be too small to avoid its huge body, and the Great Boar should be in a state where it would not be frightened by an attack… a [Berserk State].
“Something is coming!”
“It’s a Great Boar!”
The two-meter-tall Great Boar appeared as the passageway narrowed, and the soldiers of the supply unit rushed to ready their weapons.
The Great Boar had been stressed with an odor that animals dislike. The smell was created by using magic to trick the boar, but the distilled spirit used for the finishing touch was the real thing.
The evaporated smell alone would be effective on animals that were not accustomed to the alcohol. The Great Boar, intoxicated and stressed, was in a berserk state, and was further agitated by the pain of the arrow wounds released by the supply troops, which pounced upon them furiously.
At this rate, half of them would be in critical condition. Maybe a few of them would be able to collide with the Great Boar, but they would give up on that, thinking it was just bad luck.
But then–
BOOM…!
The air was greatly disturbed, and a “shadow” spread out from under the soldier’s feet, swallowing the charging Great Boar as if it were sinking into the shadow.
“!”
“Ha!”
The next moment, a Dark Elf woman, who had burst out of the “darkness” of the passageway I was in, attacked me with two curved swords of a Shamshir.
Clang!
My knife and dagger, which I quickly used to block the attack, sparked in the darkness as it came into contact with the two shamshirs, illuminating each other’s forms.
“There you are!”
“Tsk!!!”
