Otome Game no Heroine de Saikyou Survival [WN] - Chapter 179.4
Scheherazade squinted slightly at the magic she was seeing for the first time as I released a small transfer formation, a mass of darkness.
At that moment, I jumped right next to her, and while running up the dungeon wall, I threw a hidden weapon at Scheherazade’s face.
“I won’t let you get away!”
This time Scheherazade also chased after me, dispelling the hidden weapon with her claws without suffering any damage. We both lost our momentum as we ran up the wall near the ceiling, then Scheherazade caught a blow from my black dagger with her palm as I stabbed her while falling through the air, and she grabbed my fist with her and was about to be crushed.
“Kuh!!!”
But just before my fist was crushed, a heavy-type pendulum that was released from [Shadow Snatch] slightly earlier struck Scheherazade’s head from a blind spot.
But a cracked head was not enough to kill a vampire. My hand was released, and I pulled back the the heavy-type pendulum out of the shadow to swing it down on Scheherazade’s head, and at that moment, black blood gushed out from Scheherazade’s back and turned into wings similar to a bat’s flying membranes, avoiding the pendulum.
“Die, peach blonde wench!”
They said that vampires who have gained experience through age would be able to use [Blooad Magic].
If so, those wings were a product of blood magic. She then opened her mouth towards me, while we were moving away in mid-air, and shot a shockwave using atomized blood and her voice as a medium.
“–[Heavy]–“
I released the dark magic I had formed, and with a slight shift of my center of gravity and a kicking motion up in the air, I just barely avoided the shockwave, but I was out of my stance like a leaf caught in the wind.
At this rate, I would not be able to avoid the next attack. I released some hidden weapons and crossbows from [Shadow Storage] to [Shadow Snatch] to buy less than a second before I landed, and attacked with a slash-type pendulum in an arc.
“Tsk!”
Even though there was no damage, multiple attacks launched from a blind spot impeded Scheherazade’s attempts to launch a follow-up attack.
“–[Shadow Walk]–“
However, Scheherazade, who clicked her tongue abhorrently, suddenly launched a Dark Magic.
Even if Shadow Walk was used in the air, where magic was not linked, it would not be possible to cross the shadows. However, the moment she activated her magic, a number of “figures” appeared from the shadows of the blood-colored dress she was wearing.
“You clever little woman! Let me destroy your handiwork!”
Unlike spatial transfer, Shadow Walk did not allow one to cross the shadows while floating in midair. This was because the shadows of clothing created by the body were not large enough for a human body to crawl through.
But the human figure that crawled out of that small shadow twisted its own body, crumpled, and appeared, spraying blood splatter and regenerating its own body.
[Giiiiiiiiiii!!!]
Nearly a dozen of these vampires emerged from the shadows and attacked me, kicking at the walls and ceiling while emitting cries that could not be considered human.
I landed on the ground a moment early and kicked the vampire in the jaw, dodging the claws of one of the vampires that jumped at me.
Multiple vampires attacked me without stopping. The vampires in my eyes looked like low-class vampires with a fighting strength of about 400, but they continued to attack as long as they remained alive, even as their heads were shattered by pendulums and their faces were sliced open vertically in a melee.
“They are the last warriors of my clan, friends of the Gostola…to avenge their comrades, they have offered their own blood to me and have turned into beasts.”
With a thump, one of the supply columns was released from Scheherazade’s hands and fell to the stone floor, making a distorting sound beneath her feet.
At that moment of looking away, the supply convoy was wiped out, and the men who had been sucked out in exchange for Blood Magic stood up in a wavering, bestial manner.
Vampires did not change immediately after blood was sucked. Those who survive the depletion of their souls, which were sucked along with their blood, become vampires; those who fail to survive either die or transformed into unintelligent humanoid “beasts” known as “failed”.
Perhaps Scheherazade intentionally raised the power of the vampires by making them into “failed” beasts.
What should be feared was their persistence… to avenge their comrades, the vampires became dead soldiers themselves.
“Now, die.”
Scheherazade’s voice, fluttering her huge, blood-replenished wings, caused the transformed vampires and the newly minted vampires, former Rank 3 Supply Corps men, to step forward.
But at that moment–!
Roar!
A huge flame, like a serpent, burned the walls of the dungeon, consuming several vampires and half-breeds that were about to leap upon me…
Clunk… Clunk….
The sound of heels, clearly out of place in the dungeon, faintly reached my ears.
